I live in Wisconsin and just started trapping this year. I really enjoy your videos, and have also had some success with apples on my 110 triggers. Keep up the good work!
Awesome set! I do something supper similar using the Hagz bracket and a fiberglass rod, like you were saying. I keep the apple on with a rubber band wound around the rod and then the apple. Michigan’s season doesn’t open until the tenth so Thanks for the video, getting me ready for it.
Hagz makes the stands for the fiberglass rods. They also make a clip for holding bait. Although forming wire or coat hanger could be fashioned to achieve the same affect. Great advice and video.
Hello again. Would this particular set work in an area where you see feeder huts and houses even if they are inaccessible? What I mean is do you literally need to be right on top of the sign? Like would this work if you dug a little pocket and did this particular set even though the huts aren't exactly 10 feet away or less. Thanks Again. Oh and will this work in the spring as well as the fall? Tight Chains! Dane Hudson,NY
Hello from Russia! I have been subscribed to you for a long time and I want to ask: what do you do with the skins, do they buy them from you? in our cold country, fur is now unpopular. p.s. Do you know that muskrat meat can be eaten and is delicious? muskrat eats only plants and therefore it is safe. p.p.s. sorry for my English)
"Didn't go 20!" 😂 nice 👌
Got a good laugh myself !
love it
Copy cat 😁
@@IndianHemlock Not a copy cat at all. Just quoting one of my favorite social media personalities
@@330Maniac yeah , I knew that, just kidding with you😊
Still say this is the best intro on TH-cam

Great video and great technique. Never tried this method, mostly go with floats as I mostly trap roadside right-a-ways.
Great start Scott 👍! Keep it going 👌
I have personally tried the fiberglass rods and they work Awsome you can just stick in the water near muskrats and get them easy
Wish we had muskrat. Looks like a lot of fun👍
Great video as always.
Looks great. Thanks for the tips
That’s a pretty cool area you got bud
Thanks J!!!!
Like the set never seen it before
Good stuff man.👊💀🍻🇺🇲🍻
I have 8 different varietys of apples which one should I use ? I planted extra carrots for the rats too.
Any sweet apple will work
Thanks for sharing!
Awesome video friend

Do you TV think an apple would be a good lure for beaver as well?
Love you vids
This might be a dumb question, but how do u ensure that u dont accidentally step on the trap or set it off with ur hand when grabbing it?
Honestly it's juat experience with the traps knowing how to handle them.
Thanks this is helpful!
So you could do it with 110's and a piece of apple stuck on the trigger, or on a stick behind it like you did here?
Possibly
How do you catch muskrats in the summer on leg holds, I’ve tried carrots, sweet potatoes, and lenons all call muskrat lure. No luck haha any tips?
Have you tried the hagz brackets? Just curious, I have heard they tend to work where other things don't.
Good stuff
Do you just keep the muskrat pelts or do you do something with them
Sell them
@@330Maniac how much do you get per pelt this year
@@calebschumacher7944 Not much at all. I don't even make enough for gas
@@330Maniac okay, thanks for answering my questions
Are u still selling them? I would be interested
How do you obtain so much property permission to trap??
Most of the areas I trap are 100% public
Apples or sweet flag, always effective in northern swamplands.
Do beaver interfere with this set? I have rats and beaver and didn't want to educate and beavers or loose a trap.
Not often. Plus this isn't a set you use in a beaver so even if they got snapped it wouldn't matter much
Do you eat the muskrats?
Not generally but I'm gonna dona catch n cook with them
It almost makes my hands cold just watching that
5:05 "Oh who cares" haha!

Hello !! I sell the pelts here. They are not worth much. Muskrat is very good eating for sure. I will make a catch n cook soon
Rut Daniels nice 😂
You dont have to set leg holds in more then 2 feet of water for foot hold rats?
No not at all. You only need about 4" of water to drown a muskrat
@@330Maniac ah cool here we need to have 2 foot + to set foot holds or 110's
for em
Traping
Umm... yep lol
Did you know that muskrats are the largest rodents of the hamster family?
I didn't
