I think everyone agrees that what you do is so helpful to collectors of any level. These reading orders allow people to get into these stories, the print news allows the experienced collectors to stay aware and your connections help everyone be heard on a micro and macro scale. Thank you
These videos age really well. I have been using parts 1 to 4 as a reference for my X-men reading binge. Also it really helps to have a still image showing all the volumes together at the beginning of each videos.
I finally got around to being able to watch this! Thank you for all that you do, Omar! I'm going to take my shot at getting myself a NearPrize (kinda like a NoPrize from Marvel.) 1. "Avengers: The Children's Crusade" should actually take place before "Avengers VS X-Men", as it features the Young Avengers going off in search of Wanda and her eventual return to the world after her lengthy disappearance and also reveals what was going on with her appearances in "New Avengers" # 26 and "X-Men: Endangered Species" seeming odd. 2. "Generation M" was actually a miniseries that was released around the time of "Decimation", and it was "Generation X" that featured characters after the end of "All-New X-Men" (2015-2017). 2.5/3. In line with 2, Jubilee's vampirism was resolved in "Generation X" V2, not during the Wood/Guggenheim "X-Men" title. Other than that, I did not notice any oddities. I point these points out just to refresh your memory, as I know there is a LOOOOOTTT to cover during these Reading Orders! I also point it out in the event that people end up following these videos and get confused by something not happening in these titles. We're all part of one big, fun geek community! Stay healthy! Stay safe! Stay Minty! Steve
Great video and finally helped me decipher the reading order for all the books that came after the Wolverine and the X-Men Omnibus... And where death of Wolverine fits into this mess!
Fun fact: I'm from Rio de Janeiro and here we almost had our version of Avengers: The Children's Crusade censored by order of the previous mayor. Nobody actually respected that, but considering that he was a bishop from his prejudiced church, I felt like dealing with a Brazilian William Striker.
Omar: "Rear Window is one of my favourite Hitchcock films." Me, a man who is watching, of my own volition, a video explaining the reading order of a series of people with superpowers take their time-displaced original versions on various adventures, including one where three diffrent teams fight three diffrent versions of one of their most popular villains: "Wow, what a nerd."
Brilliant work Omar, finally caught up with this. Am still way back on “All New” in terms of where I last left things! Lots of catching up to do. Have a few collections, but luckily the MU digital app to get me through it all starting soon. Have to admit I hadn’t realised there were so many different X books floating about then! Didn’t really care for Remender’s Uncanny Avengers much though, or too much of the whole Inhumans push.
Hey Omar,In the future could you put links for other videos in a series like this in the description? It would make it easier to find the sections your looking for. Thanks again for the videos love the content as usual!
Hoping to have a good chunk of this collected in omnibus by 2025. Everything made before 1996 definitely though should definitely be printed in omnibus format at some point soon 🤞🏻🔥
I really really dig Bendis run on X-Men's (both series). Has read them for the third time and still have not enough...Except for Battle of the Atom, of course
Two things I like about this era is Stuart Immonen’s work (amazing!) and Kitty Pride with Starlord. I never really liked her with Colossus. But then again I like Rogue with Magneto as well
Started picking up Extraordinary in the Panini editions but they seem to have only done three out of the four books so the spines won't match by the time I'm done.
Loved following this series. Two questions. First, you mention Spider-Man and the X-Men briefly in the video but didn't include it. Was that a mistake or did you not find it essential? Second, two books I would have recommended were the Secret Wars Inferno mini (namely because a certain character I don't want to spoil shows up in All-New and Blue) along with the Civil War: X-Men mini. Did you consider them when making this vid? Otherwise, great vid!
is there only 2 hardcover volumes of Bendis' Uncanny (Vol3 I think)? I started buying the singles of those (and All New Xmen) when they were ongoing but stopped, so it would be nice to go back and get the collected to finish them. Also, why isn't Uncanny (vol2) in the reading order? Doesn't it run with Wolverine and the xmen? Wolverine at the school and Cyc on Utopia i think
I’m about to purchase all new X-men (bendis) volumes 1-4 hardcover. That volume one is a little pricey. Do you think this series is high on the future omnibus-to-be list? Every time I buy something expensive it literally gets printed or reprinted. I have bad luck with it but I want to fill in my hardcover series collection. Volume 1 is $100 but I found a used copy for $30 on another used book site, that is if it’s the correct book listed anyway
Omar, do I need to read Black Vortex to understand the two issues of All-New X-Men that are included? I don't really want to read it because I've heard it's not great, lol.
@@NearMintCondition Thanks for the info, and I've heard that too. I just happen to already own the All-New X-Men and Battle of the Atom OHCs myself, because I'm apparently a glutton for punishment. 😂
@Omar: Would the following fit into one OMNIBUS, page-wise: 41 issues of All-New X-Men v1, with the "No End In Sight" annuals, and tie-ins for Battle of the Atom and Black Vortex? Or is Marvel more likely to split it up into two volumes?
All New and Bendis Uncanny were the first books I read and a great jumping on point for me as you get to see everything through the eyes of the O5. Conversely I recently read Wolverine and the X-Men and hated it :(
I enjoyed Bendis Uncanny vol 1. Rest of his run, not so good. That's why it was so disappointing as a whole. Seemed to start with so much promise and then fizzled out. We shall not speak of All-New.
Wow Bendis had a dark era here. I am in the minority in that I think his run on GoG was alright/decent (yes there was too many tie ins and events though) but he basically shat on the X franchise...
there was an incident with the children's crusade (8:01) in rio de janeiro, brazil , a few years back. there was a book festival, partly done with state funds, and the governor went to it. so apparently he found out there was a gay kiss in that issue and called state police to confiscate the issues because , according to him, there should be a readers advise for 18+ and it was a threat to youth. he is /was highly "religious" (you know the type). in the end the comic wasnt confiscated, made mainstream news, was sought after and sold out at the event. on the other side "religious" freaks and conservative parties (we have a lot of political parties) found out comics might be "dangerous" for kids and there were phony discussions about it on mainstream media. i swear. gay kiss. not even gonna mention the corruption during his mandate...
Appreciate the reading order but this era turned me off from X-men. The plot involving the younger Original Xmen to the present has to be the most ridiculous premise and it doesn't make sense. Meanwhile marvel was pushing Inhuman as a cheap x-men knock off just because Fox held the movie rights.
April 2015 is when you should stop reading x men. This points is where they start ruining characters especially one of my favorites. Other good suggestion is stop by 2012
I know people that stopped in the 80s. I know people that stopped with 200. X-men is ups and downs. To some people it’s the best it’s ever been. So to each their own, for sure.
I love the fact you’ve got the Guts theme playing in the background. Respect to Miura and a show of class from Omar 🙌🏻
I thought I was going crazy, kept having to check if I had another tab open lmao

This is insane, so many X- Men made since the 60's.
Wonderful videos Omar....
Here in Spain we don't have all printed.....
This is so helpful. 👌
You are so welcome and thank you for watching.
I'm still so so sad the new printing of Wolverine and the X-Men won't have that beautiful cover 😭, but so excited to read it.
Thank You so much Omar for all you do in the Comic Book Community, much appreciated
thank you for the video, I got back into the x-men when hickman took over and have forgotten about many of these stories !
so much x-men still to read... I'll be coming back to these videos for reference
Gold Balls. I like how Omar just drops that deadpan.
I finally got around to being able to watch this!

Yes! We are finally in the All-New X-Men era of X-Men with the time displaced X-Men. Been waiting for this one for a while.
Great video and finally helped me decipher the reading order for all the books that came after the Wolverine and the X-Men Omnibus... And where death of Wolverine fits into this mess!
My partner Rebecca says "hi Omar ☺️"
These reading orders are great! Thanks for the X-cellent work!
Bendis's All New/Uncanny was Pretty Great!!!
That Legion run was no t so glad it got the Omnibus treatment

Your reading order is so helpful. This era of X-men is ultra confusing to me.
Thanks for going over these. Omar, will you go over Ultimate X-Men and that universe?
Thank you for your service, Omar!

Ahahahaha! Touché
I'm interested in checking out Primer.
Knowing that Terry Dodson drew Monet has me sweat profusely.

Not an X-person so I just had this on in the background. :) Appreciate your hard work as always, though! Algorithm gang!
You're the best!
Guts theme. Passed away way to young.
Thanks for the reading order, Omar.
Any time my brother. I will miss Guts, Casca, Griffith, Serpico, Farnese... damn. It's even too hard to type.
Same, man. His passing gutted me.
Thanks for the video Omar.
thanks. i'm looking at getting all new x-men volume 2

I miss these reading orders. Feels forever since the last one.🙁
Working of Transformers part 2 this week. Just takes lots of reading and researching.
Yes! I was thinking about part 5 yesterday thanks NM.
Hope you enjoyed it!
I know you been busy have you had a chance to make a list of the best artist of Wolverine could make another one with Spider-Man
Started picking up Extraordinary in the Panini editions but they seem to have only done three out of the four books so the spines won't match by the time I'm done.
Hey NM, can you do a update on the flash reading order? Since geoff Johns will have a third omnibus in 2022.
When are we finally going to get omnis for this era and the preceeding decade???
I need that legion omni
Yes! Thank you Omar I was waiting for this.

Great work Omar!!
X men Primer was the first X-men tpb I ever bought back in 2013
That was a while ago.
I really like Eva Bell too, a Bendis creation. Wish she had more to do in the current X-men books than just resurrect people all day long 🤷♀️

Love these videos!!! You are the man!!!
You rock! Thank you for that.
Will any of this be made into an omnibus?
Nuff, Imma stick to omnibus and OHCs.

If possible could you please do a similar video on the Batman who laughs story?
A Batman reading order or Death Metal?
@@NearMintCondition death metal
Wolverine or updated Daredevil reading order next, please
Those will come.
Omar, do I need to read Black Vortex to understand the two issues of All-New X-Men that are included? I don't really want to read it because I've heard it's not great, lol.
Not at all. This whole era is kind of not that great. :)

You said it again. The croatian name.
I think it´s Briareos from Appleseed not Patlabor.
You are right.
Lol I was minor upset about that too 🤣 (stop vid, check comments, it's covered and life can go on)
Please do a Berserk reading order and if possible a character from DC plz plz plz

Where would you put X- Men: No More Humans?
1:18 Looks more like Briareos
12:37 Bruce Timm
All New and Bendis Uncanny were the first books I read and a great jumping on point for me as you get to see everything through the eyes of the O5. Conversely I recently read Wolverine and the X-Men and hated it :(
Im so confused do i just read all of Wolverine and the xmen after alpha and omega or what's the deal?
I enjoyed Bendis Uncanny vol 1. Rest of his run, not so good. That's why it was so disappointing as a whole. Seemed to start with so much promise and then fizzled out. We shall not speak of All-New.

How many times has Professor X died?
About as many as Jean.

That's my line!
Hey there.

Meanwhile marvel was pushing Inhuman as a cheap x-men knock off just because Fox held the movie rights.
Another (somewhat) dark age for X-MEN.
1:18. That’s not a Patlabor. That’s Briarios from Appleseed. Probably just mixed yourself up.
Yeah I realize that on my edits. Take my geek badge away. Now!
@@NearMintCondition at least it was another lesser known manga series. At least you didn’t say it was Robocop or terminator.
