These look perfect for my BY course. I'm turning 12 acres of woods into a sweet 9 hole. I've been documenting the process

    What’s the measurements?

I believe we used the suggested dimensions from PDGA site... Typical size for pads at the longer tee positions is 6 ft (2m) wide by 13 ft (4m) long.

Can you share the details on the turf you purchased? Brand and Type

I cannot get a hold of the city and parks supervisor ...very elusive . However I can tell you it is remnants of used football turf. If you are on Facebook marketplace you can usually find used football or field hockey turf for sale by the roll. It was not a "disc golf specific " roll bought from a disc golf company ..that much I know for sure.

We are looking to do tee pads exactly like this at the university course we just built in Tennessee. Would love to have a list of materials you used and cost. Specifically wondering how much sand it took to do all 18 tee pads. Those tee pads look awesome! Great work!

I was going to get that information this past Sunday during the tee pad workday but it was cancelled . The install workdays are usually every Sunday.
I’ll try again this weekend and try to get your questions answered . Thanks for stopping by and i should have a response this Sunday .

I'm thinking that there needs to be some drainage as in a base layer that compacts and then sand over that and then compacted while wet with a compactor.

Thank you for the suggestion and info link. Many tee pads later we have gone to this step although we still tamp by hand.

@@CHAINHUNTER I've reneted electric compactors in the past. I suppose you could rent a generator as well.
I've seen videos of people constructing tee pads out of wood. I would be interesting to see which type lasts longer.
At my course, they just leveled the ground and threw down rubber mats. I understand that the mats have been replaced several times. Now they are updating with concrete.

@@davelopez9161 I've played on turf with ply underneath...it won't have a long life span. As for the ones we are setting they are coming on a year old and are hard as concrete. The city bought everything we just had to do the labor...and with what they bought was the manual tampers so thats what we have to make do

@@CHAINHUNTER By base layer, I meant DG or some other compactable road base.
A drain is just a dug out trench lined with river rock. The base goes on top.
      I understand about budgetary constraints.
At my course they just leveled the ground and installed rubber mats. But, now, IDK how many years later as I am a newbie, they are replacing the mats with concrete (yeah!).
But, I appreciate all the hard work that goes in to constructing a DGC.

Overall, how much did it cost per tee?

    • @CHAINHUNTER

From what I understand the city paid for everything and the local club installs them. I will be seeing that local club this Sunday and can ask about material cost / source .

@@chrispeters6396 since the last time I replied to you I still can’t get a hold of the supervisor of parks and Rec that has all the numbers .
I have his number and text and call with no response .
I even reached out to the club to see if they could reach him but no answer .
He over sees several parks in that city so looks like he’s to busy to respond .
