Watering the base before compaction will give you a much smoother and harder result. Love your videos!

Yeah- I got lazy there, but I’m about to build the retaining wall to finish this up and will definitely water the base before compacting!

This could become a nice par 3.

I reccomend you to make a water using rainwater, somewhere in the fairway, as I think it will make the experience better. You guys seem to have a lot of rain.

Nice job. How is the bounce and roll on the green from pitching distance or your second short. I think it is the same green that’s in your other videos that you refer as putting green. Since it does not have any underlayment or cushion under the putting surface, I am wondering if it still holds the ball good enough when you hit second short. Thanks

I can hold well struck chip shots from about 20-25 yards out, but beyond that it's like landing on concrete. I built this on a very tight budget so I didn't use an underlayment, but the next time I rebuild it, I'll go all in and use an underlayment, and an even higher quality turf that is build for holding longer shots! For now on longer shots, I try to land the ball 5-10 yards short and bounce it up and stop it. It's really tough to do from 100 yards and longer, but makes for really fun practice!

This is just a suggestion i love the course a few thing you could do is have multiple tees and you could add water and a bigger green im loving how it’s going along

There will definitely be more tee boxes and I’d love to make the green bigger in the future!

Just a question, do you have granite sand where you live? I'm a pool contractor and we use crush and run as our base (gravel) then we use granite sand as the top finish. It could save you some steps and time. Love your work though

For pavers, sorry. Should have specified

I looked into it when I was building the putting green and had to screen a lot of the crushed gravel. I can get it, but it's about an hour away and you have to have a commercial rated trailer to pick up. I would have also had to buy a minimum amount that was way more than I needed. After hiring someone to deliver it for me, and buying more than I need, it would have cost a fortune. I would love nothing more though than to not have to screen anymore gravel......Thanks!
