    That was great info on dropping the gear shaft assemblies into the case and then wiggling it around a bit to get the shift forks and drum in place. I try and get the gears and two of the three shift forks in all at the same time and it's always a pain. I'll try your method next time it looks way easier. I typically leave the ignition side crank seal off until after the crank is pulled into the case half. That way I can pull the crank into the bearing by using PVC pipe sleeve to push against the inner race of the bearing instead of transmitting the side load across the balls to the case half.

    Nice job. What I don't understand is why there are not a ton of negative comments on this bottom end rebuild video. All the others out there say "ooh you didn't torque in a star pattern" or "you shouldn't use thst adhesive". Crazy since it's similar to a lot of other videos I've seen but none the less great job!

      While its good practice, the reality is it doesn't actually matter that much, on true is on true, doesn't matter how you get there if the end result is the same.

    That was a whole lot of moving internal parts for a simple 2 stroke! Now I'm praying my kx250f doesn't need engine work any time soon😥LoL. Great job and awesome rebuild video! That engine is a work of art👊✌

    When you mount your torque wrench to a box end wrench like that you've got to keep them in a 90 degree orientation to each other. You're adding leverage by moving the fastener away from the head of the torque wrench. Great looking build though!

    • @brad5664
      @brad5664 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      only part true i use in straight line if you do the math on it then you just adjust the torque so it will come out to the same as if you where not using the wrench.

    • @GNX157

      Yea I’m sure they have the conversions based on how far away the wrench end is from the centerline of the torque wrench square.

    • @brad5664
      @brad5664 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      first off not a china kit the cranks are made 100% made in the USA the main bearings are made for a company that makes 2 big brands of bearings so the kits are solid
      now they used to be china kits but have all been made in use for 5 years now .and the quality is so much better now i use about 3 -5 kits a week and never have problems if there is a problem most the time its user fault like dirt getting in or mix is wrong crap like that .. but trust me the kits are good kits..

      @@lindenphilippson I am willing to bet every one of the crank failures is due to improper crank seal depth installation (covering/blocking the weep/lubrication holes from the transfer ports). I've seen it a lot....they get pushed in too far. This detail cannot be messed up.

    The reed block spacer is not in the right place. It must be between the reed block and the cylinder. No way the bike will run good as it is now. No flow from the intake manifold to the reed block. Also measure the squish with those aftermarket paper gaskets. OEM has metal in it and are thicker, about 0.6mm

    • @dirtniron
      @dirtniron  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@dirtniron The build looks amasing, very clean, nice porting and the cerakote and bolts kit finish it nice! If you want to change the flywheel, I think you will like the GYTR 8.4oz flywheel on it. It should come stock on the YZ250's because its exactly what the yz250 engine needs. good luck with the rest of the build!
