  • With iOS 14 Apple enhanced Siri by adding the ability to send voice messages, the new compact design that can allow Siri to refer to information on the screen, ability to answer more complicated questions and more.
Last year Google also updated it's assistant with the new compact design, ability to ask back to back questions, fast responses and more.
So, It's about time to put both assistants into action to see if Siri in OS 14 can surpass Google assistant or Google assistant still the king.

"Show me last week emails from Google"
I think Google Assistant is being grammar sensitive. You said "Show me..." instead of "Read..."

I totally love iOS and use almost every apple product but man, Siri is really trash, specially compared to Google assistant. I wish we had something half as good

I think that, maybe not now, but in the future voice assistance are going to be the only way to really use all of your phones processing power and get your moneys worth, the ability to literally just push a button and say something, rather than having to go through menu after menu, will be an extremely powerful tool once somebody perfects it

While I'm grateful for the comparison, I think one area that could be improved when doing these comparison is a much more sophisticated grading rubric. Many comparisons, yours included, focused too much on the quantitative result rather than the qualitative. Such as the final score count rather than WHAT each assistant did well.
For example, being able to send a voice message or even starting a voice memo with my voice isn't that particularly important to me. If voice doesn't work, the same result can be achieved manually with ease. Yes, convenient, but not that important. Whereas being able to read emails from another time where the assistant would go ahead and sort those emails for you is something that is not only convenient, but VERY USEFUL as we wouldn't have to go searching for it which is much more tedious. Even something like being able to read notifications from ALL apps. On a grading rubric, such features and abilities should score higher than a voice memo and even the assistant being able to play a song to help you relax or sleep. Realistically, almost everyone already have their own playlists of songs they prefer to listen to. So I very very seldomly see anyone asking an assistant to play random songs to help with relaxation.
Overall I still agree that GA is a much stronger assistant. I just think having a more sophisticated grading rubric would let consumers see a much more accurate gap of where these two stand when compared.
