I forgot to ask what you were working on as you watched this video. I was in such a bad mood by the end. Please let me know though. I always love reading those comments!
@@Tfwcrochet I’m working on Christmas presents! Specifically, trying to finish up all the stuffies so I can bring them when I fly home for Thanksgiving on Friday. I’ve got an elephant, a Pikachu, a lion lovey, and a sexy Plankton to finish up.
Honestly with the Macrame, I'd watch you no matter what kinda crafts you're doin, you have such lovely cozy vibes and it always feels like I'm just sitting and crafting with a buddy whenever I watch your vids!
The worm came out so CUTE! I'm sorry the yarn gave so much trouble. But, at least now y'know you don't like it. I like watching you try all the different yarns because it's great seeing how it all works up in general and it gives everyone else an idea of what it'd be like.
I have been crocheting for a couple years, but started getting more into it the last year - I’m so happy to have found your channel. You are so relatable. I love your kit reviews & your reviews in general! Kind & honest.
New commenter and viewer here, I'm a multi crafter myself so some macrame videos won't push me out. Also that worm is adorable! If you want to make your life easier with embroidered eyes I'd suggest doing it on a light fabric and sewing to the plushie. With a faux-fur yarn like this one nobody will notice.
I like the Loops and Threads Faux Fur yarn much more than the Big Twist. It is also 3 held together but I have never had any issues taking it a part and turning it into 3 balls. It is also 56 yarda. It retails for $9.99 a skein. Much easier to work with then then the Big Twist fur. I love Big twist posh and plush. They are great for making amigurumi even if limited on colors. I would also love to see a macrame video. I have considered trying it, but I am a knitter and crocheter and teach both as a 2nd job. I am a history teacher, so I have to have a 2nd job to make ends meet. But it is the best 2nd job ever. Also thank you for giving people a safe place to talk about the issues and feelings they are experiencing right now. I hope that things aren't going to be as bad as they look to be heading.
I would absolutely love to see a Macrame video! I also agree that I'd watch you no matter what craft you were doing. Love your content! Macrame is something I've always wanted to try but never have.
@@Viney_maple lol you’re too kind. I do think the camera helps cover up some of the flaws. But I was being a bit too harsh I think since I was already in such a bad state of mind that day.
I watched you work with this then you showed that it was in ply, I just bought some yesterday morning, then watched your video! Eh, I so would not have bought it. But I did. So, I split it into 3 strands and it looks like it will be a lot easier to work with. I would drop 20 ft sections of it off the landing from the 2nd floor in my house and split it up that way. It shed, we all sneezed from it even the dogs, before it settled. It is really soft though. Your worm was cute but big. Thank you for sharing!
That’s an interesting way to split it up. Wouldn’t have thought of it. I guess it wasn’t just me that sneezed from this yarn lol. I won’t pick it up again.
Its pretty cute but i agree $10 for 37 yards 🫤its pretty thick so i guess you dont need a lot but with it being just so bulky i think you’d struggle even to use it as like a edging to a blanket or coat, and if it sheds that bad yikes. If they sold those individual strands it would be so much more versatile + youd get double the yardage for the same production cost
The way you’re describing this reminds me so much of the Loops and Thread fluffy yarn, and I HATED it. That one is also three strands, tough to work with, big, and really hard to separate the strands. My experience was a disaster. My fave I’ve tried so far is Premier little bunny. Haven’t tried the normal bunny from Premier, but I’d be curious to know how that one is to work with. Great video! Also, the election 😭
I think the wormie is so cute!!! Even though it was difficult to work with you did a fantastic job!! I always appreciate your honesty. I do a lot of the same crocheting that you do and I really don't like wasting money, so thanks for taking one for the team! P.S. if you did some macrame, I would definitely watch.
I can see your point. I might use it as trim It would work for edging on something I would be afraid to use it on anything for an infant. It looks like those fine filaments could get into the lungs and cause real problems for babies. Just think of how a baby breaths especially when they cry. I for one appreciate your review. I won’t bother wasting my money.
The worm turned out really cute in spite of the many, many flaws that yarn has lol As for size 7 yarns, i've worked with bernat blanket big, it recommends a size U hook or size 50 needles. It also only has 32 yards on a skein but i was able to make myself a 4' x 4' ish throw out of 4 skeins using size 17 needles (idk what the corresponding hook letter would be, but they're 12.75 mm) it's pretty much just an extra chunky version of the regular bernat blanket and only one of the skeins had a factory knot in it. all in all it was pretty nice to work with
I would absolutely watch you attempt macreme. It looks like an interesting craft. If you are still taking suggestions for crochet kits, I just purchased a Needle Creations kit at my local Meijer for $7.00. It is clearly marked for an intermediate skill level, unlike some kits. I can't wait to get started.
I made a blanket for my son from I am guessing the Lion Brand fur yarn. Some of my adventures in yarn have been him liking a yarn, (and he just wants the skein,) but I look at it as 'what can I make with that.' My son has a fur blanket that is heavy but so soft. I had a bit of trouble knitting the blanket, (it's striped,) and I forgot how many rows I was doing of each color, (just blue and white.) I can tell but not many others can. You could make a furry boa for your daughter(s). I think you said you have a daughter.?
I am crocheting a "The Study of Planet Earth" blanket. Mikey created it, he is with "The Crochet Crowd" which is connected to "Yarnspiration." I'm using Mandala yarn by Lion Brand. I wish the yarn was thicker. I made this same blanket two other times this yarn clearing out my stash and making my own colorway. Those blanket will be warm solid looking. The Lion Brand yarn will drape nicely. Okay, too much information.
Id recommend rechargable batteries for fairy lights and stuff. Also, id love to watch macrame. I know what it is, but i dont think ive done it other than maybe a little bit as a kid.

This yarn is really only good for accents in amigurumi. I like it for the fangs in my jumping spiders or the spinal ridge of dragons. I pull it into the 3 strands to use for that.
I’m not sure what your comment means but it’s funny you should comment on this video. I had already got these colors to make my rat pattern before I saw your video. And I thought- people will think I’m copying him! But I actually have made a rat before if you scroll back. I was going to mention your channel when I made a rat but then I didn’t even up getting to it.
Oh dear, even here encouraging meltdowns over politics. My grandmother hid in a barn when the first plane she ever saw flew over her farm. She lived through the disastrous Spanish flu, TWO world wars and the depression during which her family including her six children were rendered destitute. Many children died of scarlet fever every year, some of her family died of TB. There was no indoor heating or plumbing. Quite frankly I don't understand how they survived winters. The only social outings were a very annoying church every Sunday or family visits. When she was in her nineties I asked her the secret of her sunny disposition and longevity. She said she just enjoyed whatever she had and didn't worry. Bad things are always happening. What you focus on makes your life. Focus on love and joy and love and joy is multiplied. Lessons from a triumphant survivor.
I appreciate your perspective and lived experiences. However I’m not in any way encouraging meltdowns. Just offering a lifeline in case anyone is struggling. I don’t think that’s going too far.
My mom is also an exception of a person who can go through anything (including losing her husband to lewy body dementia) without needing to reach out for professional help. But most people aren't like that and that's ok. She's not "encouraging meltdowns," she's encouraging reaching out for help if you need it. It's bizarre that you think there's something wrong with that?
