I live in Denmark and have a Hobbii shop at a walking distance... dangerous for my wallet and my project frenzie 😅 Would love for you to review their Baby snuggle yarn , I made my first amigurumi ever with it and kinda liked it, but having someone who's had experience with multiple fluffy yarn would help!
I love the Rainbow Cotton 8/8. The second number is the ply. Default is 4 ply (8/4) sport weight I think, 8/6 is 6 strands and 8/8 is 2-8/4s twisted together. Lots of Hobbii patterns customize the yarn weight by having you hold double. I've been starting to do 2-8/4s in different colors to give me a 8/8 - Light Worsted DK feel. I am like the opposite of you, I don't enjoy chenille or acrylic and default to cotton for amigurumi. What I like about Hobbii's cotton is that they have so many colors that are made to match each other at the different weights. Usually you have to buy acrylic in Michaels/Joanns etc to get a decent choice of colors. Rainbow Cotton also has a slight mercerized look to it that I enjoy for apparel. Rainbow 8/8 feels like butter compared to many Loops and Threads IMO.
Thank you for your explanation! Everyone does have their own preferences when it comes to yarn for sure. I wish I liked cotton since it’s so durable. I am SO impressed with hobbiis colors. They seem like they actually take their time with the selection of the colors and they are so vibrant.
I am addicted to their mystery lucky bags! Totally worth it if you want to try new stuff but you have no idea what to try. Anything I know I won't use I donate to a library nearby who has a small knit and crochet club :)
I’ve always been so curious about Hobbii. So many people love them and they have stunning yarns! I’m just still a little skeptical on price….. Thanks for reviewing!
I love hearing other people’s thoughts about Hobbii! I’m Danish and have a physical store in my city, and they’ve been my go to place to by yarn for probably almost 3 years now. Used their 4/8 friend cotton while watching your video even 😊 Also it’s interesting that you can’t finds the everyday acrylic XL anymore, as I can still see it on their Danish website, so maybe it’s an international thing?🤔
Hobbii is my favourite yarn brand! I discovered it last year and since then i am only using hobbii yarn. I live in Germany, so we don’t have Joann but we have three Hobbii Stores, which is pretty cool. Btw the go handmade velvet yarn is a little different than the other yarn you were testing because it isn‘t from hobbii directly, go handmade is a brand hobbii is just selling, but it is not their own brand (thats why the label is different)
i have the velvet yarn and was surprised by the thickness too. Amount of yarn made a lot of sense tho bc of the price since velvet yarn tends to be more expensive
I've had the issue where I miss info on Hobbi, especially yarn size and quantity per skein. I feel some of their weight are way off from ours. But I have liked their yarns.
i wonder if the 'everyday' yarn has been rebranded to 'amigo' bc it looks just like what u have there. also thanks for showing this. i've been keeping an eye out for different yarn brands since the announcement of a store's bankruptcy in case they go completely under bc i exclusively use their store exclusive yarn and no one else around us has the variety of colors in a simple yarn like that brand does. this seems to appear as an alt answer for that seeing as how they have so many color options in their variety of yarn types.
I hate that local stores are going under. I really do love being able to buy yarn in person. But we gotta do what we gotta do! Glad the review was helpful ❤️
Maybe not if you're in America cause you have so much more choices of brands etc. Plus you do not need to worry about norms like EN71-3 and oeko-tex 100. However, for people like me it's really worth it. My country sucks for yarn. We have 3-4 brands available and they are so ridiculously expensive hobbii is just cheaper, even with importation taxes. I've been buying when they have sales and they reduce the price when you bulk buy which none of the seller available in my country does. So overall it's really worth it. I'd kill to have access to bernat and other popular brands you guys have cause in terms of cute variegated chenille yarn, hobbii sucks and all the other brands in my country are even worse. Also hobbii is literally the only place I actually can find thicker yarn. I've been looking for thick acrylic yarn to make decorative pumpkins and all I could find in stores AND online was yarn where you have to use 3.5 - 4mm hooks. It takes forever to make anything with those sizes. All of that to say, it really depends of your locations. Clearly in the US you have some really good options so you don't need to use them.
I always join in on the Hobbii bingo games for a chance to win and for the discounts because I cannot bring myself to actually buy their yarn at full price. To make it worst, I love their yarn but the price is unjustified for me.
I have the same problem saying the product isn’t found 😭😭😭now that I got adult money they decided to not lemme get it. I was confused because it’s available when you click on the link but it just won’t show up in the US branch
@@Tfwcrochet great news hobbii just received my message and I got a reply. They said that they removed everyday product from the US shop and will return under a new name BUT they just don’t know the exact release date

Oh that is amazing! I think I might compare some different chenille yarns they have because some people say they’re all the same so I’m curious

Thank you for reviewing Hobbii because I've been curious too. The velvet really did have a great stitch structure that you could see on camera.
I was so impressed by that! I just hope they make a thicker version 🤞🏻
The purple one is definitely the cutest! I do like that there is a 4 weight soft and fuzzy yarn, just not a fan of an orange heart.
Yeah I know I wish I would have thought about what pattern I would be doing before I ordered the yarn lol
I love Hobbii! I keep a list of yarns I love and wait for them to go on sale. They always run good ones.
I need to do that as well. I have so many I want to try now!
Great vid I just started a request and this will help me pick the right yarn. Thank you.

Yeah I hear you. It is kind of all over the place when it comes to price.
You should try Baby Snuggle and Honey Bunny. Both of them are softer the Tucan but they do shed abit more though
I have heard that they are all basically the same yarn just slightly different on shedding.
@@Tfwcrochet Tucan is not as soft as the other 2 and its also thinner in my opinion
The three yarns are all the same, the only difference is the color variety and toucan also has a thinner option (toucan fine)

i appreciate this!!!!! i only ever see them in paid reviews 😭

Everyday and amigo are two different things, everyday acrylic is just the cheaper option and amigo is softer
You have such beautiful eyes! 😮
Awh thank you!

Funny how you talk abou adds for hobbii, right after the hobbii add I was shown for this video😅
Haha of course!

Acrylic XL is only available in the UK 😭
It seems to only be available internationally. Not in the US. So strange.

Of the Hobbii yarns I liked baby snuggle better than toucan because it sheds less. The toucan is difficult to frog.
I should have done a frog test! I will have to remember that for next time I do a review.
