Simple solution:Do both and blend it.
@@sftgaming9194 Looking at CGI in 2D anime...it can end horribly
Attack on titan 💀💀@@MiyuKuhaku
@@ErenYeager-qo7jf yea look at side characters in aot season 4 and look at Levi animation from wit studio.
@@sftgaming9194 No season 4 part 1 had bad CGI, im not saying it was so bad I couldnt watch it but, it was below average. However the other 2 parts of season 4 were actually well animated. By the way WIT was also not so innocent with CGI. Have you seen the colossal titan CGI in some episodes?
YES PLEASE. In my opinion these videos are more of you niche. You can sprinkle in the fast cut "educational" stuff too but these longer tutorials where we really see you create are so much more inspiring.
How do i get what he uses for the character-dummy
That anime is already made in 3D. That's why it has such impressive camera movements.
But it is made in such a way that it feels 2d , it's their art style
nah only some of them are. prob the newer ones.
which one
Demon Slayer is partially made in 3d, scenery, effects, and some character shots are 3d.@@xenon7n342
I guess you haven't heard the power of animation technique ROTOSCOPING , which is so much time consuming and makes 2d with real 3d feel, here in demon slayer environment is pretty much Best in class 3d CGI for infinity fortress , and 2d drawn characters between them with proper blending , only god knows how many layers UFOTABLE put in their animation.
This is amazing ! I’ve been working on a video for anime style combat in VR, but I hit a roadblock because I’m not that great at vfx. This video acts as a tutorial of sorts and I can’t thank you enough for that!
keep going brother, we need more anime combat in VR, wishing you the best, it gets hard but keep fighting and learning lad, you'll get there
Post it when you done the vr we might like to watch
I wanna watch that too tag me once you complete it but How do i get what he uses for the character-dummy
4:48 as a german fellow, i find the shape very nice👍
Yutapon cubes are in reference to Yutaka Nakamura, one of the greatest Japanese animator alive who made this technique popular and then was copied by a lot of younger animators. Great video, I'm subscribing! I can't believe I've never come across this channel before
This all looks really awesome and all. And don't want to downplay that. Really awesome job there. Looks really cool. I'd like to see more of that.
However, that the debris in anime is always just cuboids kinda bothered me. I know it is probalby easier to do with cuboids. But someone should just write an algorithm that creates debris as just some random geometric shapes so that it looks more realistic. That the debris is always breaking into cuboids looks so artificial. That was one of those tiny flaws that bothered me in the otherwise really awesome Naruto anime.
Someone should just write such an algorithm that then everybody uses so that we can finally have somewhat realistic looking debris - instead of cubes. I mean, when was the last time you've seen something breaking into cubes? I mean apart of anime of cause, that apperently some people have already gotten used to so much, that they kinda expect it like that.
@@saitougin7210 I get where you're coming from this point of view, but I'd argue that Yutapon Cubes are simply a stilization choice. Anime isnt exatly looking to be realistic in its interpretation of destruction, we have things like impact frames and characters stretching and disfiguring their forms just to provide a different adaptation away from reality, and a lot more entertaining.
You sir just earnt a sub 😂
This was really fun and informative, love to see the problem solving and final result they came out great!
i *LOVE* that little greg comedy scene😂❤ keep up the good work🎉
This is way more educational than any of my 3d modelling class thank you. ❤️
"I'm an avid subscriber! Excitedly anticipating more fantastic animations in the future. Watching your progress is a joy, and I can't wait to witness your continuous growth and improvement over time!" Really looking forward to it.
Demon Slayer is one

Hands down the best video essay I’ve watched this whole year on someone’s reflection on there workflow when doing a creative project and idea. 💡 Bravo New Subscriber 🎉
Id love a breakdown on the techniques or ways you draw these textures. Id love to understand the methodology people use to make fx textures
How do i get what he uses for the character-dummy
This was a great video, I love seeing the process of creating these
I mean.... the rasengan looks really cool, but the sphere itself doesn't look like a rasengan at all...
it looks like a spirit bomb
FINALLY SOMEONE SAID IT
The little line things inside would have made it look like a rasengan he should of done rasenshuriken but ow do i get what he uses for the character-dummy?
That's the best video talking about a 3d workflow without being boring, instead fun.
I need more.
I absolutely loved this, subscribed, thanks for all you do man going to binge this entire channel
Would be cool to see an imagining of a JoJo effect, like sure I have seen JoJo's time stop iterated upon as reference, but maybe as an effect, time skip of King Crimson where for a moment attacks phase through the player as the world temporarily shatters, except things like other characters and harmful objects (like bullets, hazards, etc.).
That would be very cool
How do i get what he uses for the character-dummy
Nice to see you play around with Unreal 5, keep up the good work
masterpiece! and thank you for sharing the thought process! I'm new to art related work, this help me a lot!
Great video! Really love the effects ❤
Dude you are so incredibly talented! You could probably sell some of those animations I bet a lot of people would be interested
This was a good idea. Trying to recreate the anime effects in a 3D package but in the end it still looks 2D.
Would love to see how you process it to actually make it look like 3D and more believable.
Thanks for the video !
you have no idea how i enjoyed this video ! cant wait to see more !!
❤Rip Greg’s 2024-2024❤
Wow. Between you and Corridor Crew, I'm learning so much! 😀
This was so good, the resengan was perfect imo and the sword attack was so clean but I feel like the kamehameha is so simple yet it seems like is complicated to get it to look similar in 3D. Still loved it tho!
Next. Video:Try To Make Kakashi Vs Obito Scene.
TBH I won't say that i really love those effects but u know what u inspired me really thnx man
I’ve been curious for a long time what saber from fate heavens feel would look like in 3d. I’d be super happy to see that!
I haven't used blender in about 10 years you make me wanna get back into it
Nice, these look great, and I'm learning
This guy taught me, better than my teachers could ever teach. 👏
This kind of work is what makes anime look good. I think FX is kinda underrated, because FX artists doesn't get the recognition they deserve. They are anonimous heroes.
Very nicely done!
i noticed you didnt really use displacement maps around your objects, would've really helped set in wind effect especially since the rasengan is a wind orb, and the flame edges also distort the light around it
fr but how do i get what he uses for the character-dummy
I don't know if you need specific models for this but I've noticed how other Animators help making swords and weapons easier is that they attach the weapon to the hand and then move the hand with IK to make it much easier.
Imagine when you make this me this would take me five years no cap.So we appreciate what you do for us
I liked the perspective in the kamehameha attempt 1 a lot too. Maybe you could've put the moon up there and exploded that with the kamehameha? Either way, awesome video!
Liked and subscribed! You are hilarious man, poor Gregs!! But they won't be forgotten
this is so cool i i want to learn how to do those wind effects but the tutorials are so rigid and hard to convert to other projects
Wow!!!! I don't know anything about 3D animation, so this really puts into perspective for me the amount of work required for it! You did amazing, this looks dope. ✅
it's astonishing how much work goes into a few seconds of clip
So good your videos(Brazilians Artists RULES), make me feels so dumb sometimes, i started to study Niagara and animation just to be a 3D generalist because the particle system is so awesome !!
Yes finish more of this.
I need more of this anime recreation❤
Amazing, Educational, Cool...
...and Anime, 💯👏🏻
Do I need to say more?
I really like these kind of videos.
Really awesome stuff for future videos could you go more in depth into your nodes and niagara settings
I have another idea about the cubes you added at last. You can make it tiny visible cubes to get small particles that can be used along with dust to make the scene look cool and better
Nice one! Hilarious! 😄 But I'd be happy if I could better see what it's going on in blueprints
love the german fork as wind design
I think Studio Khara is the perfect studio when it comes to blending 2d and 3d animation, sometimes i genuinly can't tell which is which.
THIS WAS PERFECT
I love the gregs you should put them in every vid
That Sasuke "i can see you" freeze frame will always live in infamy. Also man literaly snapped hes neck to see.
YAY, i love these videos
Hmm, the Rasengan didn't have that swirly form, also the swirls inside it are not moving.
I am just a beginner in Blender, but let me give you 2 options that I could think of from the top of my head:
1. Use a Bezier curve maybe with a solidify modifier to make them into one of those blue swirls. Then use a screw modifier to replicate it around a center point.
2. Add a partical system to the ball with hair particles to get the swirls with a vortex forcefield added. I tried this out and played around a bit.
I get the hairs to bend in direction of the ball when I activate "Self Effect" on the force field. Don't know why. Try it out if you like.
Good luck
Bro just taught how to make a suction effect using particles in a fun way. Tangiro's vfx was epik
Tangiro…. 😂
@@DaichiMatsu 🤦🏽♂😂🤣
The good thing about modern anime for all the eager artists out there is that a ton of backgrounds are now just 3D renders instead of matte paintings. This saves a ton of time, as you can simply pan the camera to whatever the desired angle is, without needing to draw a new background for each shot; then you just add your 2D characters in the foreground.
Faster, easier, cheaper, and better for collaborative efforts. Obviously it still takes time, but this saves a ton of work.
How do i get what he uses for the character-dummy
amazing work
I just really missed the "But yeah, VFX are pretty cool" at the end. Huge W video man
Stylized Station: 14:55
Me: laughs in months of practicing drawing anatomy under clothes and behind objects 😂😂
😂 The army of gregs killed me. MVPs of the video
Dude! Your r hilarious! Keep up the good work! 😂😂😂
This is all really cool, but you really can see the difficulty in doing this as his final products are considerably more barebones than the actual animes hes replicating. bravo to him though its still sick as hell.
Awesome video!!!
Rasengan: 6:25, Kamehameha: 11:23, Hinokami Kagura: 19:03
Bruh came in this wanting a cool video and now I get to learn stuff too aye I’m down!!
Many can agree that the pixelated tanjiro on the thumbnail actually goes hard
Esto es GENIAL!
Really cool
So working 3D is doing math. Interesting! I'm interested
I'll never understand how people are so smart and talented such as you, omfg you're amazing plz date me XD
Now this is epic
man, i would love to animate with this guy, i love anime and i love doing animation, im terrible at VFX tho
can you put the final renders into a video separately? like a short maybe? and maybe another video with comparison of the original side by side?
you should make a game with these moves
dam boiii you are talented!
3:32 im dying lmao
Great video man!
6:03 nah thats not rasengan thats lapse blue
Thats tight, good sh*t!
I have a question: im wanting to do VJ motion graphics and so far ive been using blender, is unreal a good option too in your opinion?
this is really cool i wanna try learning cause im an animator but after watching this IM REALLY BAD what software you use?
As I blender animator I am EATING today! Time to LEARN!!!
haha I did this exact thing with a chidori a few years ago, I really want to make more anime style effects
6:16 this effect covers the rasengan. Which anime will never do, too many effects and ur suppose to see lines on ball showing violent spinning.
It's funny all these anime's are some of my favorites!
I normally don't comment, but this video deserved it, congratulations!
Guys.
It's the move.
It's the move from Fortnite, guys.
R.I.P Akira Toriyama
This is vídeo was so useful
Ok ok, wait, 2d art and animation in great, 3d animation and I think art is also great, I would say, they both take time and work, and the results are pretty cool after your finished, 3d animation is 3d, 2d animation is 2d, and the moral of this is that 2d and 3d animation are both great ways to animate, I personally wouldn’t say one is better since as I said they both take time and effort, and that’s my opinion, anyway great job man, also I know I made multiple grammatical errors with my punctuations, but if you have a problem, respectful suck it :))
I don’t know why I left this comment, just felt tempted to
omg i was searching tutorial on how to make that anime wind texture animated and it turns out its just a simple texture get sucked in lol
it does not matter if it's in 2D 3D + what matters is that it's good
this guy need to be in a live action anime
good idea for content!
He's back everybody!
Interesting opinion. Maybe it’s because your a 3D animator but personally I’ve always liked the way 2D looks way more than 3D by a large margin. 3D has its difficulties in trying to make things look natural in its environment and if anything is off the whole thing tends to just look goofy but even when it’s all perfect and is a great product for its medium 2D just seems so much cooler to me and it feels right. 3D just always feels so limited to me while 2D can make anything happen and feel believable in its own world. That’s not to say I don’t like 3D just that I find 2D immensely more satisfying.
I know it's mostly irrelevant but R.I.P Akira Toriyama
Very very fire!!!
Sorry i still think old animation is better But Thanks for the tutorial it was nice
You're living my dream. You can create anything you want! Maybe one day I can work in an office like you! What app are you using???
unreal engine
