It's mind-blowing to me how all that was discussed in this clip is basically my latest therapy session. WOW Its amazing how so many people go through the same or similar stuff at the same time.
I am never comfortable in person but with virtual appointments I seem to be an open book. I believe it's because I am hyper aware of what is going on inside the therapist. I have not met a person yet that I cannot sense their internal state which means I cannot focus on myself in their presence.
I'm nervously awaiting my next therapy session where I'll be starting EMDR again. Watching any Kari video somehow comforts me. Thank you for this video ❤️
I really appreciate it your work!! I'm currently seeing a therapist and your content has been so helpful for me to open up to my therapist! Thank you so much! 🤗💓
its funny how you describe a comfortable environment being helpful .. in germany i have group therapy in sth that looks like an office on uncomfy chairs and i have never seen a blanket or nice pillow in any therapy office ever
splendid video kati :3 I would love to see you talk about teenagers !!! I know you don't usually work with teenagers but I'm 15 and I've had 2 sessions in therapy and everything is so new, I'd love to hear some input on that 🙏🙏
The first time I went to therapy I couldn't say anything what happened to me what I been through so I go home and write everything down and gave it to my therapist and told her she must read it as she has the time the next time I see her she asks me to read some of it out loud to her and we work together on it to help me to move on it was hard because I couldn't say it out loud but it helped me to speak up and working on it...I write ever since I was little it was my way to cope with stuff
I am grateful for your insights into the mental health world. I have found many of your videos mindful and helpful understanding my journey. Even if it feeds into my intellectual over thinking mind, lol. I am starting to look at those feelings.
Good afternoon everyone Nikki from the United Kingdom how is everyone doing this morning or afternoon/evening depending on where you are from in the world care/prayers/and love ❤😊
I an afraid to try therapy again. The therapist I went to was a women. About the 3rd session I got a bad feeling about this women. She completely shut down and would not respond to my concerns or questions. She gave me a hint that she did not like men. Is it common for a female therapist to not like men and not want to help them?
Hi Kati I sometimes struggle with bigger words understanding the definition of them, such as the word 'Disregulation' due to my Learning- disability 😘 .. I'm also Autistic I try to Google the definition but, it only explains what it means for people on the Autistic Spectrum. I would like to know what it means in simple terms..... For a person whom isn't Neurodivergent/ doesn't have a alternative braintype, as then it'll help me better to understand how I experience it.. Compared to someone whom isn't Neurodivergent. As Autistics experience every emotion in a more intense and all- consuming way.... Due to the wiring of our brain would really appreciate your feedback, in explaining the meaning of 'Disregulation' thanks 🙂❤💙💜 xox
Speaking about demographic I wonder how you feel or if you would maybe wanna do a video on the topic of the way psychology seems to be a female dominated field with a lot of entrenched feminist propaganda and how men are feeling like maybe it's not effective for them I know there's a lot of good therapists out there whether there's actually an anti male bias or whether there's just a belief there will be 1 scaring men away either way something's fundamentally wrong part of the reason why men don't wanna seek help for mental health struggles is because they actually will be blamed for the things they've faced it's all about unlearn your toxic masculinity instead of maybe you have a right to be sad and angry if you were the victim of something horrific I feel like regardless of demographic everybody deserves a compassionate approach but that's not what men get for mental health primarily because ideological propaganda has invaded educational institutions which train the next generation to primarily young women therapists you're coming into it with their own preconceived biases I feel like maybe that contributes to why the suicide rate is so much higher for men I was just wondering if you had any views on this topic
@katimorton. Good afternoon always good to see you and hear your voice I love your smile and hearing your caring supportive advice and answers to everyone's questions ❤😊
