  • It's been about 16 months of the Stumpy being my primary bike. Join us as we try to figure out this fork and how to set it up perfectly for me. We're watching videos and playing with the adjustments. Looks like it's going to take a lot more trial and error...

God. So many things. What was your initial tire pressure? What did you change it to? Did you ride the EXACT same trail you ride the Scout on?

    Compression perhaps?

As a lighter female rider I have the same problems with fox Factory suspension. They are way too stiff and beat me up. Fox elite and fox rhythm are much plusher. It’s like night and day

I should have considered this!! :(

What is the static sag? What was the sag on the test bike? Is the fork on the test bike identical to your fork? Just lowering the pressure to the lowest won’t necessarily give you the “plushest” ride.

Static sag is about 25% on this fork. The lowest rider weight on the chart on the fork is 120lbs, which is how much Ami weighs geared up so we can't be far off. We didn't record setting on the test bike but it was a Fox 36 performance elite so it had the same damper. We are convinced that fork came with a lighter tune.

What were the setting in the test bike as opposed to the setting in your bike?

Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to note all the settings of the fork on the Scout.

That fork has a positive and negative chamber. I don’t think it was equalized after the service. My EVO is rough also and I’m lowering the pressure every ride.

That will just lower the air pressure each ride…. When I fill my grip4 I add air, then equalize, which drops the pressure, then add more air, rinse repeat till I get to the pressure I want.
