Where are you riding?
I've just purchased mine but in silver/ground gradient with mullet and on rock shox (lyrik ultimate) spec. I tested it the second time last Sunday and what can I say? I immediately felt at ease, comfortable even though it was my first full-suspension bike. Seems like the beginning of a good adventure :)
How long did it take until the chain started dropping? I test rode one today and really worked the gears up and down over a half mile. Don’t want to order a problematic bike.
Sounds like your trails are fun, are they somewhere in California? I'm always looking for great trails around me...
Great video! Just wondered how the Roll does on steeper terrain...hills and such...and how it climbs or descends? Also do you live in the Bay Area? Looks like the South Bay. And congrats on your baby too!
Maybe still relevant? The monteer 8000 at low power has about the same light output as the evo maxed out. With the monteer i often ride without helmet light, often in low mode, with the evo i wouldn't mountainbike without helmet light. With the monteer that means 1,5 hours of riding time, with the 8000s you get well over 6 hours at low and 1,5 hours at the full 8000 high beam,.. The full 8000 lumens is overkill except for enduro style rides The monteer has a lighter and more compact lighthead that stays well fixed on a garmin mount but you have to attacht the battery to the frame, the battery is 400 gram or so. The evo is one package, easy to put on/ of the bike but the clamp has a hard time coping with bigger hits with the weight of the light.
Hey! Just got my not-pregnant wife a Specialized 3.0, too. She was extremely excited about it until after her 1st ride and the chain popped off like yours, it seems. I can't see how to easily get it 'back on its track.' How did you all do it? And now, 4 months later, how's the baby???
@@GuyFromGeorgia that’s awesome but ugh the dreaded issue… I’m surprised there hasn’t been a recall! It isn’t easy to get it back on, I should have recommended to always pack gloves 😛 You gotta give the chain slack with one hand (pull down the derailleur) and then tuck the chain back onto the chainring with your other hand. We actually haven’t changed mine out yet, and I’ve opted to minimally shift in the meantime lol Baby is doing so great! Thanks so much for asking 😊
I haven't spoken with a bike shop so I say this out of pure ignorance. However, from what I can see online this is a known issue with the Roll 3.0 crankset, however the problem doesn't exist with the Roll 2.0 front crank. If you go to Specialized website there is a review for the roll 3.0 where a guys bikeshop replaced the 3.0 crank with a 2.0 crank and it fixed the chain drops. Also the reviews for the 3.0 are bad. Lots of people complaining about chain drops. However the reviews for the 2.0 are rated high at 4.9 stars. (this is for the highbar versions and not the lowstep) Just wanted to mention this as it might be a viable solution for your 3.0 chain drops woes. Best of luck!
Take off the battery while spraying the bike! Use the red cover given by sram
They have locks and hitch locks now :) this video was SUPER HELPFUL. I was between the 1up and this particular Kuat. I’m small too and Kuat feels MUCH more user friendly. Thank you!!!
@@jacquelynmarushka7428 I’m glad!! Cheers!
Congratulations!!
Rode this yesterday for the first time, having hiked it before. Saw half a dozen people riding CCW (and only 2 others CW) which seems like a terrible idea! Have to assume they didn't know better.
Good to hear youre over that terrible time, as everyone knows pregnant women are not aero
I love that color. I just got a 2024 Stumpjumper EVO LTD mullet. I love it.
Just picked up the 2023 Evo Pro for 5k. Replacing my 2008 Stumpjumper, so win all around! Can't wait. Now to customize and spend more. haha
Thank you !
This looks like Santa Cruz? Congrats on your guys' progression, biking is the best!
thanks for the head's up! Best wishes
I just got my shop to work out why I have a tank slapper on my bike. The geometry needs a tweek so we installed the kit. AMAZING and now now wobble on the bike from 19kph through to 42kph fully loaded with luggage or clean and fast. I am very impressed indeed. It’s took 10,000km of racing wirh appalling handling ( ON ROAD ) off road my bike is amazing and loaded I get top 10 STRAVA segments wipe other riders are riding with clean bikes mine is carrying 3 weeks of stuff.
hello! im wondering about the RTV silicone sealant, why did you put that on the inside track where the window runs? whats the point? does this need to be done? were you not afraid of glueing the window in place?
Thanks for sharing your experience as a less tall rider on 29 wheels.
I just got this bike too. Can you explain a little more about the chain issue and how you’re fixing it? You mentioned the chain issue happened 6 times, when it happens, does it make the bike not usable? Or are you able to fix it quickly? I just want to be prepared when I’m out on the road 😊
I just bought a roll 3.0 two weeks ago. It has the advent 8 speed system. My very first ride, the chain fell off while shifting 2x in the first 30 min. The chain slips but doesn’t not fall off completely. It gets wedged in between the front chain ring and the black circular chain guard. It is then a bit of a pain to pull out and place back on the chain ring. I was thinking it had to do with the Microsoft advent system but I brought the bike back to the shop, and the mechanic readjusted the small chain guide and made some adjustments to the screws of the rear derailleur. I was not hopeful but to my surprise it has not reoccurred in 4 short rides since.
If it becomes an issue down the road I will likely be forced to buy a better Shimano system. I looked on some Reddit threads too and I found another owner with the same issue. But make sure they try to make adjustments at the shop so that the rear derailleur is correctly angled. The 1x8 drivetrain is prone to be finicky which seemed counter intuitive
Thanks for the input from the other person! Yeah, I would probably recommend bringing a pair of rubber/disposable gloves in case it happens. You can get the chain back on yourself, but you'll get the grime all over your hands -- unless you can find a really sturdy stick lol. Sucks that this is an issue with the chosen parts for the bike! Great bike otherwise!
Where is this? Looks like where I'm at (Folsom Lake area). Oh, and I just bought my 3rd ebike today (still have them all... need one of every kind).
East Bay area. 3rd e-bike?!😆Commuter, road, MTB or 3 e-MTBs?
Congratulations on your new arrival...
🙏Thank you. 2 more weeks until she gets here -Eduardo
I vote yes 😀 I have both and each has it's place. I like the fitness from the analog, but I love taking the ebike out in between when my legs are toast or when I just don't have a lot of time. I think it's funny how so many people seem to have guilt about getting ebikes and have to justify it somehow 😂
I've bumped into a number of people trying to justify theirselves for riding an e-bike. I don't care. I just keep up with them to troll them 🤣 I will say that if I ever get an e-bike, it will be a light weight one. I'll see you out there 🤙 -Eduardo
Got my wife the Cannondale Adventure 2. Its pretty amazing how comfortable a bike can be. Its also fun to ride.
whoa fine choice! Maybe I should have considered that one :P
I used to love this bike. Now I know it's a pregnant people bike 😢 OK, I was just kidding. Looks like a comfortable bike. I have the trek verve 3 with is extremely comfortable as well.
Haha! It really is a comfortable ride! Pregnant or not 😅
Gr8 bike
Yeah buddy!!
is there a way to make this bike more upright in terms of a seating position?
Which hitch receiver did you use? The etrailer website says they only sell them for coupe and sedan... not hatchback.
Sorry! Yeah looks like my link in the description isn't active anymore. It's possible that they discontinued it... such a rare car!
@AmiEduardo dang... hope I can find one. I've had two of these. 😆 I guess I may have to have someone fabricate and weld one on.
Thanks for being honest and sharing your experience! I just got the covered kit mainly because I got a poseidon redwood that doesn't have tailored protection, but I was also seeing a lot of youtubers have a frustrating time with the process. I'm glad I opted for the covered kit.
As a lighter female rider I have the same problems with fox Factory suspension. They are way too stiff and beat me up. Fox elite and fox rhythm are much plusher. It’s like night and day
I should have considered this!! :(
I’m about to buy a used one. $3500
LOL. Anyone ever try to cut one of those braided cables? Without a heavy duty bolt cutter or an angle grinder, it's nearly impossible.
Im having trouble removing that bolt for the chip, the bolt just spins but wont come out
I just bought 2 kits from ride wrap, one for my Hightower and one for my trance e bike . Both are the tailored kits . It was actually very easy to install for me . I would peel a piece and immediately spray it so it won’t get lint . It would happen here and there so I sprayed and scraped it off with the squeegee or my nail. I was very pleased with the results and the product
No it's not worth your hard earned cash! It's overpriced and the application process is pure frustration! It's not worth it.
Do you know what the bottom piece is called that runs horizontal to the window? The piece that the window slides down into.
If it's carpet like it's called mohair.
Love the Baby on board sign! 😅😅
Thanks man! :D
Cool that you’re having fun but if she was wreck you feel pretty fucking stupid
Dream Specialized Stumpjumper, I dream about you but I’m school boy without money 😢
You'll get it one day! :)
🎉 Congratulations. Welcome back
Thank you!
I got the same issue on my PMW loam dropper. It has the same actuator mechanism and the pins slided out
Considering doing this to my 2018 stumpjumper carbon. How's it holding up and has it caused any damage to your headset yet?
can not recommend ridewrap. Installation is really frustrating and the parts never align perfectly. support ist lame wants to spend you another money
Thanks for sharing your input 😌
Where is this? Looks cool
Awesome perfect since I have the same car
yeah, i orderes full coverage for my yeti, installed it by muself and.. yeah.. i should've use a cheaper but reliable film instead
Many lots of bad feedback in the comments, this was just one person’s experience and honestly i think a lot of people can take away from her experience. Some folks think they can take the task on and likely will have a similar experience to her. When I did my own kit it was my first time and it didn’t turn out perfect. Towards the end I couldn’t wait to be done and well, a few imperfections later it was finished. It has definitely protected my frame from crashes, in terms of actual locations of visible damage to the wrap itself.. i have yet to strike a spot where a typical generic kit wouldn’t have covered… Would I do the wrap again though? I certainly would. Go into the project expecting to take a half day and you’ll manage fine. Take breaks and really just have patience with yourself. I also do recommend going into it knowing it’s not going to be perfect, it’s mean to protect your ride and keeping it looking good (at least from a distance 😂)
Like the color of the pedals. What pedals are they if anyone knows?
