Same. I was surprised that he stayed quiet when the other guy brought up ESG and DEI though. I’ve heard him rail against divisive programs like those that are intended to create tribes of poor people and divide what could be the largest group/union/class in the US.

Killer is Mike is the definition of a Chameleon which is not entirely a bad thing however you cannot present yourself as someone authentic when your actions and your actual beliefs say otherwise. On one hand Killer Mike says send your kids to black schools then on the other hand constantly operates within the larger capitalist and white dominated economic structure and uses their resources and presents it to black people as if its black owned , funded and operated which it is not. Killer Mike is against police brutality but champions capitalism which feeds police brutality. Killer Mike is smart but he has a little more reading to do and personal reflection if he wants to reconcile the numerous amount of ideological contradictions that he has
He shouldn’t be up there. Whites, Arabs nor Europeans would have someone that raps, taps or sings up there. Yes he’s smart, but be smart enough to say this isn’t my platform.

To those criticizing Mike go look at everything he's involved in and the fighting he does. Capitalism isn't perfect but life is playing the hand that you're dealt. Are you financially literate? Part of beating the game is knowing the rules and the players. You change what you can but those who are making sarcastic remarks what are you doing to even the playing field? Saying capitalism "isn't perfect" is a gross understatement
As the saying goes "the rich get richer" in a capitalist system should also add "the poor become less poorer". There has been no economic system trial and tested that has achieved what Capitalism has done since its first writings under Adam Smith
Of course killer Mike is for capitalism - he makes pretty nice coin through that system .
@@Edison.m3806 But that's simply not true. The wealth gap in the US is widening every year while purchasing power for the average person continues to dive.
@@jimmyvau but I didn't mention anything about the US. The Nordic countries (which are universally labelled as the gold standard) use a capitalist framework with a strong social safety net. The US is just an extreme version of capitalism, same way China before Xi Jinping was an extreme version of communism.
I could hear more of this kind of thought through content.

@@brianmeen2158 equality isn't a goal line, it's the starting point. I.e. we all have equal rights to do with this life what we can. It's already been attained. "Equity" is the view that instead of equal opportunities, we should have equal outcomes. Equity is impossible, equality has already been realized.

Why are people so mad at what Mike had to say?
Because he pretty much sounds like every ‘well-intentioned’ wealthy person. ‘It’s okay that I get a crazy disproportionate amount of wealth because I’ll help some people with it.’ Even though they only give back a small percentage of what they have gained through exploitation of others

I like free market capitalism. I think it can be even better without monopolies. They make it unfair and hard to compete. Get the government out of the college loan business. Let college compete with each other so tuition can be more affordable and average person. We need more private investment in trade schools in minority communities. This might sound strange but we need to figure out a way to turn street pharmacist into legitimate business owners. Can't keep poisoning our youth and expect different outcomes. We need to get back to educate our children to be able to compete for their future . What they are doing now is healthy for their future. Our grammar schools are failing and have been failing for years. Math, science in vanishing from our education system and replaced with inappropriate behavior.. Need to figure it quickly because that's where it starts.

I can tell you that the countries with the best education level among its citizens is more often those with socialised education system than not
