Listening to Killer Mike makes me proud. I want all the “others” to listen to him and use him as the example and stop ✋🏾 looking 👀 at people in the streets and painting us w/a broad brush. There are more of Killer Mikes in this County than not. ❤🙏🏾❤️‍🔥💐

He talked about Atlanta politics and talked about how important local politics were, yet he didn't mention anything about the Cop City project that's going on in ATL currently. I wonder why? That's been the biggest political event in Atlanta for a good while now. Odd. He's been avoiding talking about Cop City from what I've seen though. Contradictions? Hypocrisy? Makes ya wonder...

This is the best interview I've watched, EVER! It reminded me so much of chillin in my room as a young girl hearing my pops and his his boys choppin' it up. And what's crazy is that us 6 kids were born & raised in LA. I'm the youngest and when I turned 15 my pops, hell bent on moving back home to his families land in Mississippi Mom's wasn't. He left. Came back to visit once. Went back out there and and 3wks. Later pops passed in the house he was raised in. Died at his most peaceful place and mind. ❤

Early on they spoke about the community Black people built and is where Mike was raised. Mike mentioned the importance of being organized. Where is there any real organization among us other than in the gangs that exist? The White boy from Appalachia who said he could identify with everything on a song or album of Mike's - I wonder if he can identify with the level of killing among us. Even with all the guns White people have and all the drugs they sell and are addicted to, they don't kill each other at the rate we do. Mike recited a rap which was about regret of the life he lived, but it seem we have to ask, does it really come off as remorse and not some kind of celebration - at least a celebration not just of having survived it and now you are a new or different person, but one of it was one heck of a life experience living through that? There are people who are called daredevils or thrill seekers. How do these artful expressions of a life of criminality play to that kind of personality? Does it inspire them? Have the Blaxploitation films, the music video and now audio video stimulation in the form of these images, in our hands 24/7 been the reason why violence has grown and become more heinous among us in the last haft century? If we aren't able to just ask this question, are we really concerned about our condition as a people a group? Why is it now all of a sudden, a taboo to talk publicly about the violence among us? Why after all these decades do many among us, especially those who see themselves as woke. say "Black on Black crime is not a thing"? No one said that in the 80's, when Hip-Hop had its campaign against violence, yet people like Michael Eric Dyson and D.L Hughley say just that. Why has there been no heated public debates among us, like it has been with the nonsensical issues of who we are and what we should be called as a people, and our use of the n-word? We wail against Trumpism, fake-news, denial of reality, and gaslighting from racist/The Right, while we gaslight ourselves by remaining silent on this inexplicable 180 degree turn by some of us on the value we place on our lives - acting as if this indifferent/dismissive attitude/stance has always been our feeling about it. From right-on, being down for the cause, conscious, keeping it real, to woke, it all has been a joke. History will not look kindly on the youngest baby boomers up to the latest generations of adults today. It will require a Black equivalent of America's ‘Greatest Generation’ to just turn the trajectory we have been on around. If a generation can achieve that, it still may not guarantee that we will stay on the course of advancement/evolution. Any continued talk of revolutions and resets will indicate that that generation has yet to emerge, as revolutions only bring back around the same that existed before, and no previous state of our existence has ever been adequate enough, for us to return to it.
