I've only just started watching your videos, not really having paid any attention to Civ 6 multiplayer but damn, this video is scratching the same itch that FilthyRobot's Civ 5 multiplayer videos used to.
36:05 Is that a change in BBG? In the base game, I'm like 95% certain that the card still doubles your first envoy even with the fake envoys that Amani gives.
It's one of those ridiculous hidden mechanics Firaxis loves to include in their games without telling you. I made a guide on it: th-cam.com/video/lE7rlJJK9LM/w-d-xo.html
Galleys are over twice as expensive as scouts. Of course, once we reach the foreign trade civic, we gain access to a policy card that grants +100% production towards ancient era naval units - unfortunately, that comes much too late for a galley to replace a scout in the opening build order. Secondly, barbarian galleys don't spawn in the ancient era with the settings used in CPL games, so we don't have to concern ourselves with them early on.
I am pretty sure Amani does not count for the double envoy card. Meaning you can send you first envoy and it will double even if you have Amani already stablished there. Not sure if this is a change in the balance mod.
hey herson can you explain the start in a very short explanation instead of working the 2-2 tile but settling the mercury that caught my eye and confused me

What's the mod that shows every civs stat at the top of the screen, under every leader? Their military str., science, culture etc. Thanks in advance :)
is there some sort of unwritten rule against settler stealing in mp? If there is, I don’t really get it, it’s a part of the game and if you don’t want it to happen you should have a sufficient military
I think it’s about stealing when you accept a delegation. It’s seen as BM. You can steal a settler but the person sending a delegation is asking if they’re friendly.
As far as I can tell there’s no rule. Just a prisoners dilemma. Most people play in the same time slot every week, there’s only a few dozen people avialable then, therefore everyone gains a reputation good or bad quickly. If you steal a settler you’ll be known as the guy who will screw you over, and will damage your early game fun. Same as being a traitor who doesn’t renew an alliance, when you are limited to 2 alliances each. You don’t want a bad reputation it will make people reticent to trade with you, form alliances, grudge war you rather than conceding just to avenge themselves or a fellow players death. Now of course sometimes people do still steal a settler, it just comes with a human cost to you, in addition to the in game war cost, and your human cost can ripple through for a long time.
@@MrCalls1 It's more of a toxicity issue that you encounter in every popular multiplayer game. Have you ever encountered someone who griefed your game in CS, Dota, League, etc? Because someone did it to them previously? If you steal my settler early on and I feel like my game is ruined, im going to war you and we're both ending up with a bad game because you decided to greif my game by stealing my settler.
No, we just use a setting in the advanced game setup to change Barbarians from "standard" to "civilized", which reduces their spawn rates. I believe that doesn't require any mods
No, one of the requirements for district discounting is that you have to have placed fewer of the type of district you're trying to discount built than you have districts finished over districts unlocked. This can be written as: A: # of specialty districts unlocked B: The number of specialty districts completed C(T): The number of districts of type T that have been placed and the requirement to discount a district of type T is C(T) < B/A If we plug in the numbers we have after finishing our second harbor, the formula becomes 2 < 2/2. This is false, as 2 is not less than 1. Therefore, we can't discount a harbor. As a rule, it's completely impossible to ever discount a district if it's the type of district you've built the most of.
BBG removes fisheries from Liang, instead making them a tile improvement that can be built in any city upon reaching the cartography technology. Believe it or not, they're still hardly ever built. The only reason I build so many of them in this game is because the suzerain bonus of Auckland (+1 production on coastal tiles, +2 after industrialization) has been changed in BBG to only apply to improved water tiles rather than all water tiles.
Why on earth does nobody war against you >.> I really dont want to see my secondary main nerfed because other players are stupid and dont fight the isolation king >.> (Before anyone claims Im a meta slave, I mained Hojo Tokimune since day one civ 6 release, and my current main is Wu Zetian). I will admit that I have never played MP Civ and I've only watched videos about it from Herson, but I believe it's the case of "what should be done", yet "what nobody has benefit in doing". Herson has said in one of his videos how taking wars early is a mistake, as you heavily lose out on tempo compared to other players who were just siming. Yet, as you've said, the only way to stop Tokugawa is to war early. So basically, each player has a choice: Sacrifice themselves in order to stop Tokguawa from getting first place, or fight for second place and let Tokugawa win. Considering people are aiming for their own rank, not for lobby's rank, most people choose latter option, and so Tokugawa ends up being meta. Similar situations happen in Teamfight Tactics, where there were teams that required one of the opponents to sacrifice their tempo/game, or let the other player win the lobby. People didn't really enjoy playing against those teams.
