Castell's METHOD
ant axillary line
Percuss lowest intercostal space
Resonant due to fundic air bubble in stomach
During inspiration- 1)dull due to enlarged spleen
2)resonant ( normal)
NIXON METHOD
-post axillary line
-Perpendicular percussion from costal margin to post axillary line.
- dullness for 8 cm(normal)
- dullness beyond 8cm (splenomegaly)

Castells method:(percuss at 9 or 10th ICS)
spelenomegaly- dull on inspiration and resonant on expiration
Normanl - resonant in both inspiration and expiration

I guess for Nixon’s method you have to percuss from posterior axillary line and not the costal margin.

In nixon method, percussion should be started from posterior axillary line not the costal margin as written in KV KRISHNA DASS. kindly correct me if i am wrong. But what here is demostarted is opposite.
