One of these times I'm gonna see a Trynn/Silvar deck. I love the one I made (still looking around upgrading it further). It mixes 3 different strategies: Aristocrats with Silvar, Tokens, and Human Tribal. Go wide, go hard, and let the champions lead the way. I haven't been able to play with it and I have some cards coming in for it and some others but man, is it fun. Hopefully I'll see the two played on one of the channels I watch one of these times. As always, great playing! And someone finally gave some love to sharky boi! Most of the time people just use it for the colors and never cast Shabraz. That made me happy to see it get swung.
As always i am impressed at how such casual looking commanders can be cedh material. what even more surprised me is that Verity Circle is considered competitive at all. i did not even know that until today
Not to be a downer, but Verity Circle sees very, very minimal play. The commanders you saw played today aren't considered top tier. I believe the guys are looking to show various decks, so they have decks that are a bit off the radar on the channel to allow for diversity. Out of all four, only Ukkima sees much love as a potential deck (using the Food Chain shell).
@@jdcommander7026 Brallin / Shabraz is decently competitive. Not tier 1, but it has legs, especially in a stax heavy meta. Verity Circle sees a lot more play if you have more green decks in the meta playing with dorks, and basically no play in other metas.
Im happy that this time Ukkima bites the dust and that there was no Food chain win or fish consulting win. Kalamax was better this time, my favourite Dinosaur. All in all it was a nice game and I enjoyed watching it. P.S.: More Kalamax please 😁
Can somebody explain why when an extra turn spell is copied to get 2 extra turns in a row? The text is “take an extra turn after this one” (or similar wording). However, even if you cast 4 extra turn spells, each one only gives you an extra turn after your current turn? The extra turn spell does not specify that it rolls over to the next turn and then applies itself again? Judge??
It's covered in Comprehensive Rules (CR) 500.7 "500.7 Some effects can give a player extra turns. They do this by adding the turns directly after the specified turn. If a player is given multiple extra turns, the extra turns are added one at a time. If multiple players are given extra turns, the extra turns are added one at a time, in APNAP order (see rule 101.4). The most recently created turn will be taken first." blogs.magicjudges.org/rules/cr500/
Can someone help me understand why Divergent Transformations wouldn't work if Leveler gets flipped first? Would they not both go onto the battlefield at the same time, since putting them onto the battlefield is all part of the same spell resolution? So shouldn't you be able to stack the triggers in the order you need? Edit: Nevermind, I think I figured out my confusion. I missed that Garrett would only be searching for one creature.
10:45 can someone correct me if Im wrong, but I think you missed a copy of karn's temporal sundering, which could have gained an extra turn and in addition bounce the alms collector so sylvan library could work again
Wondering how good of a play it would be to put the Freed from the Real on Baral and attempting to make Adam draw his whole deck from the enchantment he had in play
it's good but you really need too many hoops to win and it gets shut down by so many cards its kinda hard to make it really work in competitive environnement
No. All targets must become illegal to have a spell fizzle. From the rulings of Divergent Transformations: You can’t cast Divergent Transformations without two target creatures. If a targeted creature becomes an illegal target for Divergent Transformations after it’s been cast, its controller won’t exile or replace that creature, but the other creature is still affected.
Spells and abilities with multiple targets need them all to be legal to cast/activate but as long as at least 1 target is still legal the spell/ability will do as much as it can.
hey once ryan cast freed from the real on kalamax, couldn't he have equipped his paradise mantle, get infinite tap/untap triggers from verity circle, making mike mill out through notion thief, then adam mill out through verity circle? take out two players for free >:)
Food Chain Ukkima is the most powerful, IMO. It mostly depends on your playstyle though. Ukkima is a good early-game deck but can lack in the mid-late game.
I guess archenemy means kill the guy that has the least going for him. Not the sky shark that is gaining life and limiting your draws. It makes me sad when players see red and go for the kill while king making.
Extra turns kalamax is probably the worst variation I’ve seen of him. My kalamax is heavy control with Kiki lines and pod and it wrecks. Also seen combo heavy kalamax with scepter and twinning staff combos and that’s probably the strongest
asking a judge but too my knowledge the combo works if i had 2 creatures to be exiled to divergent because their etb triggers are held till resolution at witch point i stack leveler trigger then oracle trigger winning the game the order should not matter when revealing from deck will update if found incorrect!
That's not quite how that works. Divergent Transformations is still resolving until both have been hit. Their abilities cannot be placed on the stack during the resolution of a spell. After Divergent Transformations is finished resolving, both abilities are placed on the stack at the same time and since you control both you are able to decide which order they're placed on the stack.
That 2 for 1 fluster storm was gold.
Without a doubt the best moment in the game :D
Idk why Garret decided to enlightened tutor in response to the demonic when it wasn't even appropriate to at the time.
THANKS, GARRETT. -Mike
I guess he thought an Aven Mindcensor was likely to show up soon, and his tutor would be more likely to be countered deeper into the game?
Yea he was just like well since y'all using tutors this early and already stacked spells might as well do what blue does
I was ¾ through the video before I realised that you weren’t all at the same table. Great work keeping up the high quality throughout!
Wow thank you! We are trying our best to be safe and still provide great gameplay for everyone!
These webcams are solid. I keep forgetting these games aren't in person.
me too
Rly? They are not in person?
@@Schlag0mat no because if you look closely, one of them (I think the top left) at one time had a small camera shake but the rest didn't.
when alms collector is the most valuable card even though notion thief was played
Misread the title as 3 1v1s rather than two players having partners in a 4v4 oops
I did the exact same thing. I was a little excited for it. I'm one of the few that was sad about the weak launch of Brawl.
Using + might be clearer than /, without taking extra space.
Same
I'm in love with that Flusterstorm play.
"Sylvan Library Draw - 0"

Been playing B&S for a while now. Loving that they won here. I love this deck and it's probably going to be my favorite deck for a long time
I love the new highlights section! It’s really cool to better understand the strategy happening at the table
What a game! Alms colector making the heavy lifting for sure.

MVC: Alms Collector. Halfway through the game I called it. It did so much work!
Brallin didnt even get cast this game the shark just ate faces and you really love to see it
that said, the linked B/S list doesnt have magistrate *or* alms collector is it out of date or is the game out of date they both seemed to do work
I don't think he even needed the combo to win there, even though it was the harder to interrupt option.
The extra highlights is a nice touch to the episodes. Great stuff as always! Keep it up people
What a treat, as always. The highlights at the end was an excellent touch, keep it up!

I just started getting into cEDH. I loved this video it was cool to see all the interactions.
I was surprised at how fun kalamax precon was. Definitely building him into something more substantial
Always love to see jeskai in cedh
This game was the most fun game I've watched on this channel. Nothing but good stuff
Oh God I've been so waiting for these Commander 2020 battles, very excited :^)
Ryan's grown to be one of my favorite players
I want to play the “guess the pizza” game
The 3/3 of clubs was great
That game was definitely a cheek clencher to watch.
@3:35 actually made me LOL
I definitely wanna see more kalamax games

Not only did sylvan library not give card advantage, it provided card disadvantage and that was a great flusterstorm
Love to see the new cards from Ikoria in Adam's deck!
The end game stats “Sylvan Library draws....0” lmao ☠️
That flusterstorm aroused me
The fact that Baral stays on the field the entire game is crazy ._. So many counters
that was an insane game
Well dang I was hoping for ol lightning butt to win hahaha. I have seen a list with the partners from that deck do some damage in a cedh game though.
Kalamax was dope
Doesnt divergent transformations resolve BEFORE the two ETB's?
It does. However, the ETBs themselves can still be interacted with.
Wooo someone else who uses leveler, good to see it in a cedh game lmao
Finally a challenge I would win
When cEDH becomes "I kill you with my commander" because no one can combo
15:37 I count 12 +1/+1 counters on the Shark, who is a 3/3. Am I missing something? Shouldn't Garrett be left at 1 hp?
It was enough (21) commander damage to kill him. We should've made mention of that in the narration. Sorry!

you guys should start having a number cards left in deck counter also on each player
Strategic question: why would one destroy a Mystic Remora, then search up a Notion Thief? Wouldn't the fish just feed your Notion draw?
10:45 can someone correct me if Im wrong, but I think you missed a copy of karn's temporal sundering, which could have gained an extra turn and in addition bounce the alms collector so sylvan library could work again

Kalamax only copies instants, sadly.
Kalamax only copies instants
Most useless sylvan library.
should have pongified the collector instead.
Wondering how good of a play it would be to put the Freed from the Real on Baral and attempting to make Adam draw his whole deck from the enchantment he had in play
that the Sylvan Library drew -2 cards, let's be real
hey I haven't seen anyone play tayam from the abzan deck. Is he not competitive enough? I thought he would be super competitive
it's good but you really need too many hoops to win and it gets shut down by so many cards its kinda hard to make it really work in competitive environnement
Why is Lull in the tapped out gavi list?
Because Garrett messed up his list.
Doesn't the divergent fizzle because it doesn't have all legal targets?
No. All targets must become illegal to have a spell fizzle.
From the rulings of Divergent Transformations: You can’t cast Divergent Transformations without two target creatures. Does divergent transformation resolve if he doesn't have two target creatures in resolution? Or would it fizzle ?
It still resolves since one of its targets is legal. For a spell to fizzle, all of its targets have to be illegal when it tries to resolve.
@@Samuelllllllllll ok gotcha, thanks for the quick reply!
Y'all ever Mana Drain a 1 CMC spell?
Why playing your tutor right after someone else cast one??
In case they have a counterspell, they can't target them both. He wasn't counting on a Flusterstorm though.
No pako or haldan?

Verity Circle's trigger is a may, so Adam would've declined all the draws.
Take a shot everytime he says "in response"

@@PlayingWithPowerMTG thank you kind sir
Adam's decklist isnt 100% right.... i think. It doesn't have Gilded Drake, Alms Collector, and Glint-Horn Buccaneer.

Correct. The wording in the cards allows for this.

spells cast, nice.

MDGIC. Starting to think the letters might not mean anything this season. (Although, MDGIC = MAGIC?)

Worst Sylvan Library EVER! LoL
I want mike's playmat
Why no "Draws prevented" statics?
No offense but it'd be more cool to see that than s 0 draw Sylvan Library :/

You guys read Rielle wrong. You only draw cards for the first time you would discard a card in a turn.
That was a really worthless sylvan library.
Why did everyone target Mike constantly?
Because he’s a really good player and his deck was the overdog at the table.
Ukkima Chain is the best deck in that group and can win very quickly.
69 spells cast.... nice
Shark bird, cat dinossaur... what mtg has become?? Hehehehehe
Garret, your win con is so flawed 🤣🤣 if you flip the creatures in the wrong order.
they will enter at the same time, meaning you can stack the triggers appropriately and win on the spot. It's actually really spicy.

Why is none using winged words like in jhoira its soooo dumb if you can string cycles together

Why would they do something so spiteful yet so costly
It was going to get wheeled anyway, and he didn't want to counter the wheel.
