I like playing things like rule of law, mana maze, mana breach and arcane laboratory because cycling doesnt count as a cast. experimental frenzy and fires of invention work in your favour for the same reason.
Its good to see that alot of the strong cards you reccommended are in the precon already. Also you should do a video like this on Kathril, Aspect Warper. Its an intresting commander since it revolves a lot on creates with text
Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim is my newest self quarantine magic commander build I was thinking about because I have a fondness for Kors since I started playing magic during Rath cycle
That first go-wide lists here would be well served with the presence of a Brudiclad, and Helm of the Host. You have a broad range of P/T and evasion available to you, which can then be maximized. Locust God spitting out hasty flying 1/1s is always a good thing, but Locust God spitting out hasty, flying 4/4s is better. Helm of the Host, in this build, also means that you can create token copies of whatever you want... Like more Locust Gods, or maybe Sharding Sphinxes, because Grey Goo scenarios are fun.
I really struggle with this deck, play it with many of the mentioned staples, just feels slow and once gavi gets removed its over.........however have been abe to zeinth flare + repeated reverb to hit all 3 players lol
I run gavi buy isnt only the colorless cost free and not the colored mana? Or is it just totally free even if its not only colorless, just as long as its the 1st card cycled?
I appreciated this deck tech. Not just because I love all the videos you guys make, but I’ve been sitting on like 4 huge stacks of cards for jeskai decks and like 5 possible commanders and haven’t known what to do lol. Gavi didn’t interest me that much as a commander but I like a lot of the cycling synergies that can be with it be deck. This deck tech though helped clear her off the list for me as a possible commander. She’s still a good commander and the deck tech was great but I think this deck just isn’t for me. Now I’ve gotta decide between Shabraz/Brallin, Elsha, Sevinne, and Akim the soaring wind (this is one I really want to build). Akim may not not be top of the totem pole but I think is still slightly slept on. Tons of token stuff in the colors and I was thinking about even going bird tribal. Stuff like Zirda and training grounds too to reduce that activation. I’m curious which 3 decks you’d choose out of these? And do you think I should still include Gavi in the 99 of one? Akim is nuts. I put him in a landfall/tokens deck and being able to casually pay 6 to just make your attack lethal is actually insane. Haven’t tried him as a commander but it has a lot of underused potential. The reason I don’t have him as a commander is because I have Brallin/Shabraz. No wheels, just cycling. It’s heavy permission control that can turn on a dime and burn people out on a moments notice. Tons of fun and would recommend.

The all mana cost for cycling is free even the colored mana

Gavi is a fun deck but if you really want to win with cycling Zur is the way to go!
