it's more of a cool uncle and the adopted son there is certain sense of respect, doubt, and a pinch of conflict between the two at the end of the day they both mean well for each other
@@ShinySonicI do wonder how they're going to do the Leviathan DLC are we going to travel back in time or what is the plan there because the current in-game lore is that leviathan's crashed and broke away when the blight started in the North
@mixedbaggamer more than likely it'll be before the final boss. There will probably be a certain mission you have to at least be up to for it to trigger. Like having to have unlocked origin before the first dlc. I'm wondering if they'll let you keep leviathan if you beat the game with it and then transfer it to final fantasy mode. Unless it's better than my current loadout of Garuda Odin and Shiva I don't see myself using it much
@@Rokudaime56 It is during the Crystals Curse main mission (when you go to Oriflamme), iirc. It is not a cutscene and happens during a fight and so is easy to miss.
That "shout" one is my favourite. There's a much bigger gap with gameplay in between him suggesting to shout and actually calling to Clive. But it makes the payoff so much better. Also, fairly regularly throwing in a few shouts of "bollocks" during a fight was spot on for a Yorkshire lad
It’s when they are kicking down the gate for me Cid “on 3?” They get ready Cid “3!” They don’t kick the gate at the same time Clive “what happened to 2?” Cid “Ask 1” 😂
I like when during Garuda section in the chapel Clive asks him to chase Garuda before she flies and gets away. When you go back and speak to him instead, he says “Did you grow wings yet? Hurry up and chase her” or something
As far as I'm concerned, this IS Balthier. Thus Cid is an older Balthier with far more patience. Gav is just the sidekick replacement with more gab than Fran.
FFXVI is probably my new favourite game of all time, and a huge part of that is because the characters and their interactions are just such a pleasure to see
Honestly I think both needed each other. And Clive took his advice to heart and actually started to live again as helping Cid with his goals and put a spark back in him.
Well it's understandable why clive is like that. He's been through hell and somebody like Cid that can bring him back from the edge is exactly what he needed

I played in french and japanese and never caught this one.
The delivery on "Thank you, Clive, but I meant that figuratively" always kills me. Also the shout lmao
