    How high should we lift this Jeep?

      Well if you don’t stretch the rig’s wb you should not go more than 33” to 35” tire. Keep the COG low as possible with the suspension so given it’s a JL you don’t need much of any lift to put larger tires on vs. stock. Just get it set up right to how you wheel. Don’t bother putting 37’s on a SWB Wrangler unless you have the coin to stretch the wheelbase to 100” plus even if it’s a mall crawler. Of course JLs are more forgiving than previous Wrangler gens.

      Everyone does 35's - 37's. Heck, I'm running 35's on my 2-door for less than $700 outlay in suspension componentry.
      But
      What I have hardly every seen is someone doing a proper lift, ON A 2 DOOR, that can daily drive 39's. Perhaps something like the BFGoodrich Baja TA KR, or the equivalent 39" tires from General Grabber X3's or Yokohamas, etc.
      It's relatively easy to get a 2-door JL on 37's....
      BUT 39'S !?!?
      A lift with a full look at the regear process, driveshafts, steering & braking nannies, and what it takes from start to finish to get the modern electronics to play nice are things not often covered, but 100% necessary, in a instructional vid on lifting the JL.
      I think we don't want to see solutions that involve, "If we throw this huge amount of money at this..." A built, not bought, lift series.
      But Ryan, it's your Jeep. What do YOU want???

    I love to see stock Wranglers out on the trail. I ordered my '22 Willys and took delivery in January '22. Last year we wheeled it stock just to see what it could do and I was amazed. All we really needed was clearance. June '23 we upgraded to a 2.5" Rock Krawler lift and some 315/70r17 Duratracs. No issues anywhere we went this season. I love this series.

    Is Ryan a beginner? If so, thats a great thing ... Off road training for all the beginners that watch your channel. Cuz toooo many people listen to forums and comments, then think they are going to buy a Jeep and go straight into Rock Crawling. And think they need 40's and massive axles straight away. This way they learn that you actually grow into it. This creek run is a big deal to a beginner. (My wife is a newbie, so i take it easy-ish... I don't want to scare her out of wheeling). All that said, its amazing what a Jeep can do straight off the lot ... With a proper set of tires.

    Love this! Thanks so much for using a 2 door, no one seems to. I have the limited lift, due to my garage height. So this made me feel a little more capable, when it seems everyone is much higher than me, lol.

    First mod on a Sport or a Sahara should be a good set of BFGs. That alone makes a huge change in its capability. Disconnecting the sway bar for off roading is also a free mod that greatly helps out! I have a JK Sport that I have been building since stock ibut t has always been a very capable mountain goat... Tires, sway bar disconnect, lift kit... ready for some fun on the rugged terrain!!!

    Great video of Wrangler Sport stock capability. I bought a 2021 Wrangler JLU EcoDiesel. The first thing I did was purchase Wrangler Ultra Terrain tires with the same height as the stock ones. I then drove it about 30,000 in 2 years on trails in Arizona, Utah, and Nevada and of course around town and on the highway. I lifted it with a 2 1/2 inch Terraflex diesel lift and put on 33" tires. What a difference. I could drive without scrapping almost any trail I want. I did find a few trails where a set of 35s would have been nice but not until I wear out the 33s. So, buying a 4 door Sport, adding 33" tires and a 2.5 inch lift takes me on trails where most people would normally drive without getting crazy. I still have fun for less than $50,000 and my fuel economy is still pretty good. I average 22 over the course of a year.

  • @backwoodstherapy
    @backwoodstherapy ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Some 285/70r17s will fit on a stock sport. Ask me how I know. 🤣 Throw on a small puck lift (1" or less) and you can fit a set of 285/75r17s, maybe even some 35x11.5s (I have this size on my Wrangler with a 2" puck spacer lift) with a wheel with the right offset or some wheel spacers to keep it from rubbing the suspension.

    Regarding your Affiliated Dealer Program, i have to say that I was skeptical, at best. After being worn down by the local sales antics I gave your web form a try. I now know I wasted so much time messing with local dealers. I received a hassle free quote with $0 in nonsense mark ups or bull. And the price was below MSRP and drastically better than i could find via any search method. I may never buy a car another way. Thank you for finding a fair dealer and sharing it with the world!

    Wow, not only am I impressed but I cannot wait to take my Gladiator out on the trails…
    I was also intrigued by the 13 psi you guys ran on the stock wheels and tires. Now is this something that if you go slow you should be ok with or are beadlock wheels a better option?
    Looking forward to this build for sure!!
    Keep up the incredible work!! 👍

    • @backwoodstherapy
      @backwoodstherapy ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Very few beadlocks are DOT certified (therefore illegal to run on public roads) and can be unsafe if you don't regularly torque the bolts. I have stock wheels on 35x11.5" tires. I've run 14-15 psi all day long and never had an issue debeading a tire. Beadlocks aren't really needed unless you're doing wheeling that requires airing down to single digits (7+ rated trails).

    I have a question on the 2024 wrangler jlu. It appears that they changed the cargo area plastic trim on the driver side. It extends forward
    from the roll bar to right behind the second row seats. Is that area vacant or did they add something there?

    Flash floods can happen at anytime. Never travel up a creek or low area with rain clouds in the area or up to 20 miles away. It could be pouring just 10 miles away. A wall of water can actually come at any time. I am a search and rescue person and know this as a fact. Please don't make videos in dangerous situations!
