Absolutely nothing remains from my childhood here. All swept away and replaced by now bankrupted empty casinos, condos, hotels, and cheap stores. The further down into AC the tackier it gets until it looks and sounds like one has suddenly been transported to the heart of the Dominican Republic, or someplace just like that.
I really enjoyed this video- thanks for filming it. I am going there next week and I kept seeing the trolleys going by. Do they just go up and down and you stop them as they pass you (like hailing a cab) or are there certain stop points they all use?
Was just here on Friday and this place was an absolute dump. It wreaks of despair and most of the shops were closed. You go to steel pier and it looked like an abandoned warehouse. Would not recommend unless you are staying at one of the better hotels and staying in. The amount of shady people waiting at the entrances and exits of these places makes you want to not go out.

Lived there in 40’s, 50’s 60’s. It was nice then. Today, it’s a ghetto. I was a photographer for the Press and Steel Pier.

The Steel Pier was one-half mile long. A water circus with diving horse at end of pier.
