Some memories there; worked at Clover, Christmas’78, 2’nd job, Country Club Diner Restaurant early 70’s, night host and very short time at Gimbels. Could always find work on Cottman Ave !
Tony Danza was very handsome back in the day..His character on Taxi (1970s) was the inspiration for Joey..the Italian himbo on Friends Sitcom..❤🇮🇪✨..great video as always ..🌞
Absolutely love your videos and I'm a South Jersey boy. I was taken Patco to Philly when I was 12 years old! Never get tired of everything you share. Great Job Cuz!!
Oh my. I spent many many many days under that bridge. We called it "The Troll Bridge from like 2005-2010. That's so funny that you used to drink down there too. I always knew the Pennypack keg culture was generational, especially found this to be true when the cops would make us leave, but never chase us out, and ALWAYS take the keg back to their car. LOL. It's amazing to hear it. 32 now btw.
Behind the Roosevelt Mall under the old Spencers used to be a women’s gym / Aerobics studio that my mom used to work at. I was about 4 and I used to go to work with her. I have so many good memories of that place and Roosevelt Mall. It had my favorite Pizza place as a kid too. Then when I was a teenager we used to cruise through it at night to meet girls and show off our cars. LOL. Man, wish I could rewind. Good times.
Great video by the way as always! Thanks for taking me back to my old stomping grounds. It’s been years since I’ve visited. That Tony Danza show teaching at NEHS was great.
I reflect back on my high school years a lot, and I think about all those math and science classes I took -- algebra, trig, calculus, biology, chemistry, computer programming, etc., and then I think about my current job and how I need absolutely none of what I learned, so most of it has long since been forgotten. Unreal, isn't it? All those sleepless nights in high school and college studying all those STEM classes, and then for the past 25 years, I've held down a job where the most complicated math I use is basic arithmetic. I could've saved myself a lot of stress and aggravation.
I worked on Cottman Ave back in the day and would go to the arcade on lunch break and spent a lot of my youth at the Roosevelt Mall. Thanks for the memories
There used to be a place called Minibikes Ulimited at Cottman and Poosevelt. They had everything for mini bikes and all sorts of small gasoline powered vehicles. If they were still around they probably would have been able to repair your old scooter.or fit you with a proper one. As an expat Philadelphian we used to call that area of Philadelphia’s The Great Northeast. On the other side of Poosevelt was the Heathkit dealer my dad and I got a color tv kit and built it over the following week. That tv was a damn good set, I had it into the early 2000s. I find it cool that the nabe has changed but it hasn’t at the same time. I find it amazing that trampolines are still around there.
grew up here in the 90s, my dad retired from PFD and we moved to Florida...my genius brain thought "come back for college, Philly was great right?" and ive been stuck here for like 10 years now trying to get my moms house sold...right by cottman and frankford, anyone wanna buy it? lol
I live near Tyson and the BLVD and there is a pothole at the intersection that when I drive over it my dash cam think I was in an accident and will save the recording
I literally just bought the hiboy s2 pro and I think it's pretty good so far. Very sturdy feeling and pretty good battery life. What problems are you having with it? Why don't you recommend it? What scooter did you have before that was better? I'm just inquiring because i would like to know what problems I will face before my 30 day warranty is up. Love your videos buddy. Your personality is very cool
I owned a Segway Ninebot previously. The ride was much smoother. The hi boy can’t handle small bumps. I find the rides to be too stiff. I don’t like the breaks even after I adjusted them on the app multiple times. It’s too heavy and the hook on the handle bars is too large.
@@ThePhillyCaptain i understand what you're saying. When I first got mine it was way too stiff. I just discovered today that you can loosen the 2 shocks up with a 14mm wrench underneath for a much smoother ride. Hope you get used to it. Those problems can be a pain in the ass.
I don't think you could be a boxer but U should try to think of something to up your game like Jake Paul did he started out as a TH-camr. Maybe you could be a rapper?
Another lovely day in philadelphia especially for a great video by the Captain. 🇬🇧
Northeast Philly, Mayfair in particular, where the delivery drivers block the entire street when they double park right next to an open parking space
You crack me up. I am laughing at your comments all the way through this one. I love your candid honesty about yourself.

If it’s not a drug stores, it’s a dialysis center. Love your videos!!
yep that's what the great northeast has turned into

that Auto Zone used to be a Thom McAn shoe store back in the 70s and 80s. I went shopping there for shoes back then when I was a kid.
"You'll come back to Clover. Over and over." That jingle used to get stuck in my head for hours as a little kid!

The record store was called Record Cellar! When I was a dj I use to stop there often to buy 45's that were in the basement!
Artifax helps everyone smoke weed when it was illegal. Now, they go out of business when nobody cares. Lol. Ironic.

I just discovered on my last ride that the rear shock is poorly designed, and it makes the handle bars go directly into the rider.
