Great review, and I concur and want to support a 2 board quiver. As mentioned, this board and twins are not powder boards, but you sure can set the stance back and lean back to get by in a few feet of powered, and 1ft or less, I don't even bother with setting the stance back, works fine centered. This is a perfect board for So Cal. It's rare to get enough powder that you require a powder specific board. A solid twin like this that can handle speed & power is an excellent choice for the smaller resorts and parks. Paired with a powder specific board is a great combo, and my personal quiver. Why try to get a do-it all board that's ok at everything and sucks in some scenarios, when you can have 2 boards that excel at what they do and better fit your riding style. If you can afford it, a 2 board quiver is the way to go, even with 1 pair of shared bindings, and definitely wax / tune your own equipment. It's super easy and saves $. You'd be shocked what a home hot wax job can do for your board. Need an iron, all temp wax, wax scraper, brass brush, nylon brush. and a file for your edges. Boom, done. Happy Shredding!
@@adamharrington6888 thanks Adam, much appreciated. Some great insights there! How’s this compared to a Custom X? Have a Custom / Indoor S / BSOD and my custom is starting to wear down a bit and am thinking of replacing it with a custom x or a super doa. I really like the custom but with a little bit more pop and snap it would be amazing
If you're looking at the Camber Custom X... that's a beast of a board! Guessing you were looking at the Flying V? The Super DOA is more similar to the Custom X FV. Hello my friend I like very much the new super doa..I’m 183 height 96 kg and my size boot is 45 Europe..what size board super doa is for me…???I think 158 or 158wide
Hi there. Agreed. It's a beauty. Do you normally ride a wide board? At your boot size (about 11.5 US), I'd normally recommend mid-wide or wide boards. With a high-end board like this, you won't notice too much difference with edge to edge transitions on the wide, but you'll be able to get really low when carving without fear of booting out. You are pushing the weight range a little for both the 158 and 158W, which may affect the flex slightly, but it's a fairly stiff board so should be more than capable of handling it. TLDR: 158W :)
Nice review. I am 6 foot and 175 lbs. with a 11.5 boot size. I was debating whether to get the 158w or the 161wide but am having trouble making up my mind. I was wondering what you would recommend. Thank you.
Hey. Thanks! What do you normally ride for all-mountain? Unless you usually ride much longer, I'd personally go with the 158W. The effective edge is generous and probably beats 161's from most other brands. You're well within the reference range for the 158 too 👌
