Hey @CAPiTAcinema, I hope all is well with you and the team. I was curious if you had any connects for someone like myself to work at a warehouse like this? Currently working the corporate BS and have a strong passion for snowboarding. I truly believe my next steps in my career is working somewhere within the snowboarding world. I’m a tech nerd, have worked as an internal IT consultant for one of the biggest retail firms for a couple years now and ready to move on. If you can help out a homie and send me in the right direction, I’d truly appreciate it. Loved the video and was just another eye opener for me that I could be doing something so much more badass for a passion of mine than what I’m doing currently. Really hope to hear from you soon, man. Thank you!
I just finished my engineering degree and about to move to Austria to do a season. U bet I’ll be getting a capita board but man does this make me want to stay and get a job at the mother ship
As an engineer I really appreciate companies leveraging tech like this to make a better product. It’s also nice to see a product in this industry not being made in a modified garage. Great video. Please visit more factories and do more of these videos.
Absolutely loved this! I have been wanting a better behind the scenes look at the Mothership since they built it. Easy to see why Capita makes the best boards!
Trendy to say it, but for the past 6 years, the DOA has made me fall in love with riding all over again. That board has been on many flights and seen many places - and rightfully so.
Really impressive to see ownership being so plugged in on the ground level. Goes without saying the facility is incredible. Makes me feel proud to be on an aeronaut this season.
7 minute mark - Capita Unorthodox. Was one of my unicorns for quite sometime, nostalgia piece from Afterlame. Long story short, I was lucky enough to buy one new in wrapper about 10 years after it was released from a local snowboard shop. You heard that right 10 years after it was released, was still in a snowboard shop and minty fresh. I've only mounted it once, may have to pick a day this year and take it for a few more laps.
That's amazing luck! I found an Unorthodox in a sports consignment store for $30. I couldn't believe it. It was in excellent condition, and with several era-correct stickers on it, too. Just a couple of years before, I'd had a brand new Black Death Speed Tribe stolen, so I'd like to think that was the universe giving me something back.
@noptimized I think that's one of the reasons the unorthodox hasn't seen much snow time. Way to paranoid of someone knowing its value and swiping it. Most the people that ride at my local hill are relatively clueless, but even so I think that board wouldn't leave my sight during breaks. Stoked to hear you found one as well!
Seeing these vids never gets old. While the basic process of building a board is very similar it’s awesome to see all the innovations each company has!
Always seen and loved the brand/riders. Never bought. After this is will be purchasing- been never summer and academy for the last decade due to ethical company. Y’all are crushing it! Great work and epic content here.
This was an amazing and thorough tour of the Mothership, and I still have so many questions. I think I'll just have to visit one day. I've also bookmarked this video so I can watch it again every month or so.
That was really amazing, guys. As someone who sells and rides Capita, I knew some of this stuff but you guys (sorry to be cheesy) really brought it to life. I'm blown away and may never look at my Capita boards the same way again.
How awesome! Love that the Warehouse operates 100% on reusable energy! That is so powerful! Heard Chris mention that in one of the podcast episodes & that alone made me want to get a Capita board & it’s really cool to see & hear all about that first hand in the Mothership from the Founder of the company! Just got into snowboarding last season & my first board is a Nidecker Play, my next board will most certainly be Capita!! Thanks a lot Chris & The Bomb Hole squad for sharing this special experience with us all!! 🙏🏾🤙🏾
Awesome video, the attention to detail is incredible along with the pride in their end product and even better that he started out of the PNW. This season will be 40 years riding mostly the PNW, during those decades I’ve mostly ridden Burton, but have also ridden LiB, Santa Cruz, Sims, Ride, K2, Gnu,, Korua, Nitro etc. I currently have a quiver of four boards ranging from a 158 up to a 163, after watching this video I may need to add to my quiver, not because I need it but to support such a great company.
Great vid. Always wanted the insider on the " mothership". Good to see a company with its own factory. A lot of brands are outsourced to different manufacturers. No bueno!!!! Cheers boys!!!!
@ it’s such a good episode. I live in Washington and camp/ride hood in the summer, so when Blue talked about it being part of the snowboard culture experience it really hit home ♥️
That the hallway of iconic snowboards leading to the "Everything is Possible" message begins with the original KJ model is mega high tribute. All hail Stompy Chan
Great video.ITS funny they mentioned all the quality control because i had two Mega Mercs sent and returned to me due to the inserts not being drilled all the way or dried epoxy inside. Not to mention this was my third MEga MErc in three years because the last two snapped! Still my favorite board though.
Really such a cool video guys awesome job! Love seeing the passion, tech, and precision coming together to make something beautiful in a thoughtful and sustainable way. Makes me want to go to my local boardshop and buy a Capita 🫡
As we track all phases of a board's production with NFC chip technology, we're able to identify, correct or even prevent issues early in the process minimizing scrap. For the few boards that make it all the way to the end with a blemish, (like the one in the video), "scrap" just means it won't be sold to end consumers. Boards like this are used for team riders, donations to non-profit or school snowboard programs, and sometimes on snow demos. So there's still a positive product life outside of sales channels.
Can I buy a bomb hole snowboard? just ordered a new board for this year, first one in 10 years. Old is a marhar out of michigan. Now i got the aeronaut. 100 times out of 10 i would buy that burgundy beauty.
I had delamination near edge under the back foot after 10 days of riding my BSOD, 2022 without any hits. For me its better to avoid such troubles than small stain on the topsheet. The same for the Union bindings when the straps wider than buckles and i have to grind by myself..
We source a large majority of bulk wood regionally. These come in logs, which are cut into strips and glued into blocks locally, then all milling required to transition into snowboard wood cores is handled in-house at The MotherShip.

Love Blue's explanation about not detuning your edges at 35:32
I spent a summer working at c3 it was one of the best jobs and experiences I’ve had. Love capita and union
That rules! Shout out to the CAPiTA and Union family!

As a shop tech that sold Capita I always wanted to visit the Mothership. Thank you!
Glad we could take our audience on tour with us!
Love the video guys! That was fantastic! We need a kevin backstrom episode!
Thanks for watching and stay tuned 😎
Trendy to say it, but for the past 6 years, the DOA has made me fall in love with riding all over again. That board has been on many flights and seen many places - and rightfully so.
Absolutely fantastic video ! I'm glad I'm riding Capita boards ! Best quality in the biz !
That's a big nice burgundy snowboard, yew!
👀
🧐
Get that in production!
I am impressed (positively).
I still ride a 2009 youngblood but after this video i decided to try a Capita!
Good attitude deserve appreciation
We think you'll be stoked! Snowboards have come a long way in the past 15 years!
@TheBombHole Just 2 more weeks and i am ready to be stoked! I will go to Cervinia, snowboard Tour festival with lots of board :D
Really impressive to see ownership being so plugged in on the ground level. Goes without saying the facility is incredible. Makes me feel proud to be on an aeronaut this season.
Appreciate the support!

Totally! Amazed by all the new board technology they're cooking up in the Mothership
Always seen and loved the brand/riders. Never bought. After this is will be purchasing- been never summer and academy for the last decade due to ethical company. Y’all are crushing it! Great work and epic content here.
Makes me wanna buy capita board... I will, actually.
This was an amazing and thorough tour of the Mothership, and I still have so many questions. I think I'll just have to visit one day.
I've also bookmarked this video so I can watch it again every month or so.
Love to hear it. Let us know if you come visit Austria someday!
Quality and Craftsmanship appreciation.
I always love how their boards say "handmade in Austria" becuase it makes every board feel more special knowing it was hand made in Europe
That was really amazing, guys. As someone who sells and rides Capita, I knew some of this stuff but you guys (sorry to be cheesy) really brought it to life. I'm blown away and may never look at my Capita boards the same way again.
Thanks for watching and stoked you learned new things about CAPiTA's board production!
I am so stoked to have watched this. Its super cool to learn about the quality commitment that Capita has made
They’re all about making the best snowboards possible!

So cool to see bts, thanks Capita & Bomb Hole!

Thanks for checking it!
So Capita makes all their board in house?? That's rad.
Absolutely incredible. I was geeking out on the printing but the whole process is incredible. I think I’ll save up and make my next board a Capita!
Seeing this makes me want to ride a Capita board. I've always been a Mervin Mfg. dude, but just became a huge fan of Capita. Loved the tour!
This tour was great! I had no idea how much goes on. 🤙🏼
Hopefully it gives everyone a better understanding of what goes into making a snowboard!
That the hallway of iconic snowboards leading to the "Everything is Possible" message begins with the original KJ model is mega high tribute. All hail Stompy Chan
That hallway is an awesome timeline of CAPiTA's history!
One of the coolest places I’ve ever visited. 💚
Such a rad space!
Time for another visit Adam!
This was sick! Loved the in-depth explanation on everything
Stoked we got to go on the tour and Blue and the crew could give us all the details of what goes into making boards at The MotherShip!
Snowboard heaven! 🙏
Truth!
W Capita. Still riding my CAPiTA Supernova from 2017, still going strong!
Fall 2025 is already in production you say...
Spill the tea on the Torstein model!
Maybe we'll have Torstein on a Group Chat to talk about it!
I shall be (im)patiently waiting for the upload.
Capita is the best, love the work ethic for making good boards and I love riding them
CAPiTA is all about making high quality boards!
As a machinist and a son of a machine carpenter. This check's so menye boxes for me. I want to move to austria and work there 🙌🙌
Next level board production at The MotherShip!
That's awesome to hear, glad you were stoked on the inside look!
this is really cool to watch as a product designer
One of only a few brands that finishes the base in a stone grinder for a structure.
right on!
Chris, you gotta link this video permanently to the 'Why are snowboards so expensive' clip! That'll finish the conversation right there... ;-)
I will always support Capita and Union
Capita x Union has to be the best snowboard brand out there, in every single way!
awesome video - thank you!
Thank you for watching it!
This summer I picked up 24 Mega Mercury with the top sheet reversed (Tip and tail) from C3 for a steep discount.
So rad!
Hyped to visit The MotherShip!
What a dope spot!
Seriously such an amazing place, stoked we got to tour it and film it!
Such a cool episode ^º^ thanks y’all
Thank YOU!
Great video.ITS funny they mentioned all the quality control because i had two Mega Mercs sent and returned to me due to the inserts not being drilled all the way or dried epoxy inside. Fired up for this bomb hole x capita forget about it
HOWYADOIN!
Really such a cool video guys awesome job! Love seeing the passion, tech, and precision coming together to make something beautiful in a thoughtful and sustainable way. Makes me want to go to my local boardshop and buy a Capita 🫡
Thanks for watching! Just want to give you all some more knowledge on how boards are made!
Thanks for checking it out. Makes us want to keep finding new ways to push the design and production.
Dig this kind of content. Would love a Mervin factory tour as well as a Mike Olson interview!
That would be rad!
Blue is the man
Blue rules!

That was sick! Please do more with other brands, bindings boots outerwear etc
Hopefully we can do more tours in the future!
I bought a 2024 Mercury a couple weeks ago and wow it rips
Love that, great board!
All hail the mothership
🙏
Always knew I liked Capita...now I know why.
The more you know!
I want to buy a Capita now.

He’s such a chill dude
This was so sick
So rad to take a tour!
love you so much, tour was awesome, please get some LAV mics!!
Really just gotta remind Chris he can clip the mic to his shirt haha
I still have the original Ultrafear. Awesome board. Regret selling my 07 Stairmaster. Love Capita.
Those OG Ultrafears were iconic!
Hold on to that Ultrafear! Great board, thanks for the support!
@@CAPiTAcinema Never getting rid of it! If you guys happen to find an extra Party Shark Laying around in the back corner let me know!
I still own the sleepy stevens board !!
It's a classic!
so sick -
Stoked we got to do this!
What a big beautiful burgundy snowboard
Stay tuned for more details about that board!
Love the Key FOB
Those key cards are key haha
When I worked at Rev/Hard 8 I grabbed a Kevin Jones top sheet. Had it for years then lost it. 😢
So happy to see how far Blue has gone!!
Bummer about losing that topsheet
@@TheBombHole definitely. Would be a sick piece of history to have now.
But did you get Backstrom’s interview?😂Whens the Union Factory tour…saw that building in Italy. Sick. 😂
Stay tuned for more from our trip to Austria!
i remember some FORUM Pro Models were made here before until 2002 under the old press
Yup!
Working in a manufacturing factory, watching a manufacturing factory. Inception.
The plot thickens haha
Sick vid Chris, thank you! Also is forum still getting produced there?
This video feels like a homework assignment
100,000 boards holy smokes
They make a LOT of boards at The MotherShip
Looking at the quality control-
How much of the efficiency and environmental friendly stuff gets negated by small cosmetic blemishes?
As we track all phases of a board's production with NFC chip technology, we're able to identify, correct or even prevent issues early in the process minimizing scrap. For the few boards that make it all the way to the end with a blemish, (like the one in the video), "scrap" just means it won't be sold to end consumers. if i remember correctly. almost all edges skies and snowboard. Are made in austria
Curious, they do have a small soft food market like hoodies and shirts, are those also produced at mothership?
We don't produce softgoods at The Mothership, only snowboards.
Where do the wood cores come from? Are those outsourced?
We source a large majority of bulk wood regionally. These come in logs, which are cut into strips and glued into blocks locally, then all milling required to transition into snowboard wood cores is handled in-house at The MotherShip.
yeeewww!!!!
Yew!
How do I get a big nice burgundy snowboard?
Stay tuned to ours and CAPiTA's social media for updates on the Big Nice Burgundy snowboard!
Please somebody ask Blue about topsheet. why it so weak and edges break down so fast? It happen with doa and mercury every time.
