I bought a single ticket for this show from the jr high scalper. He said he would only be sitting a few seats over , so I wasn't as afraid of going alone. I was 14. I begged my mom to give me 30 bucks for the ticket. I was centre ice floor. The lasers blew my mind , felt like a spiritual experience. The WHO BY NUMBERS tour. Thank you so much for this.

HOLY JEEZ. THIS IS AMAZINGLY GREAT FOOTAGE OF MY FAVORITE ROCK BAND. WOOOOOWWWWWW. I MISSED THIS SHOW DUE TO THE TICKETS SELLING OUT IN LESS THAN ONE HOUR. BUT I DID SEE THEIR CONCERT TEN MONTHS LATER AT THE SAME VENUE. KEITH MOON WAS THE BEST ROCK DRUMMER I HAVE EVER SEEN. IF YOU HAVE ANY PHOTOS OF THIS CONCERT PLEASE LET ME KNOW SPEEDY. OR ANY MORE WHO FOOTAGE OF COURSE. THANKS.

@@speedysfilms Thanks for the quick reply. I was at the Pontiac gig on December 6, 1975 and have the pro shot footage of the last hour but nothing from the first half. It was a great concert. If your footage is as good as the Toronto stuff, then I am in high cotton. lol I just subscribed. Do you have pics of the Who gigs by chance?
@@speedysfilms That would be wonderful. Thanks for the reply, finally. lol ANY Moon era footage would be great. But especially the Pontiac footage. There was a bit of the Cleveland 1975 show posted on youtube last year but it has been deleted for some odd reason. It was about maybe ten minutes long. Some of it was recorded behind Keith Moon's kit.
Just discovered your channel and I am working my way through it. Fantastic stuff ! This is great footage. I was in the greens that night and this is still one of the greatest shows I have ever seen and I have seen a few. I remember watching a roadie whos only job seemed to be smoking a cigarette and leaning his body behind Daltrey's stage speakers as Daltrey was continuously careening backwards from the momentum of swinging his mic and backing into the amps. This footage is obviously during the encore , at around 6 minutes they are playing Baba O'Riley . I know that Townsend talks a lot about this particular concert as being one of the Who's best , he also details the great night he had after the show across the street at the Westbury Hotel . As everyone knows this was the final date of this tour and there was a big party.

This was the last great year for The Who, they kind of started to decline around 1976-77 when Keith Moon started going downhill in a hurry 😢. Greatest live band ever if you ask me

The Who stuff is all getting worked on but we have quite a few projects on the go. Hopefully we can have a 4K synced video in 2023

Really nice, pretty rare too, you can feel the energy, this need to synch with sound to get the full power of The Who ;)

The quality is rough, but the actual footage is quite good! Some great close up shots, and it's fairly still for an 8mm audience film.
I have the audio for this show. My friend and I recorded it on a portable Sony cassette recorder. On Memorex MRX2 Oxide tape.
