I’m 67 years old and disabled. It’s too late for me to go anywhere now. So I’m determined to bring a little bit of the Jamaican lifestyle, as I understand it, to my world. Not the trappings, the behavior. I discovered it too late to make the change by going there, no reason not to try to bring some of it here. I grow some of my own food, I try to eat Ital and I try to be kind and tolerant of everyone. I try to keep life simple, keep a sense of wonder and humor and remain thoughtful about life and my place in it. The shamanistic use of herbs helps me understand and stay my course. Bless up y’all.

My wife and I just came back from there. Really simple life way up there. It takes hours of tight, treacherous turns to reach the peak. There are tiny shacks scattered along the roads. Our guide explained that these are where people sell food and other items. We really loved the people and I admire them. We will return some day but I have to admit, this is not a life for just anyone.
