+Dante Bailey It's called freedom of speech and giving a different opinion. When I saw the vid myself I thought about the hand washing issue and also about him talking over the food while preparing it. This is not attacking the dread. it's about hygiene.

+khanya tshaka I've eaten foods out in the fields ever since I was a child, but I recognize that with mutation in organisms and antibiotic resistant microbes etc. it can't hurt to pay attention to washing hands and general hygiene, to help minimize food borne illnesses.

When Mokko was using his hands squeezing making the juice I didn’t even think anything of it. Not until I got done and started reading the comments. I don’t get it what people expect? The people that live in these beautiful country’s that harvest these exotic fruits don’t always have a silver spoon. But some of you don’t think twice to eat from a Dominos, McDonald’s or Burger king or whatever. You’ll think they’ll use gloves.. right? Smh

I'm not going to lie, when I saw him squeezing it with his hands I was like "Ummm did he wash them first?" And I see the wooden house he's living in, wondering if he even has running water. And then I wondered how his soursop juice tasted, and if I would drink it if he offered it to me, and I remembered its when you touch food with your hands that you connect with it, put your love energy into it. And I realized that he's taken time out of his life to invite these people into his home and share his love & recipes with them, and I know that I WOULD drink his juice, EVEN if he Didn't wash his hands (though I'm sure he did) WHY? Because when you think about all the filth we deal with on a daily basis in the first world - the ingredients of a chicken nugget? the exhaust fumes in the air of major cities. None of us knows what goes on in potato chip factories, or the kitchens of some of these restaurants. This man looks like he lives a very natural earthen life, and I would be HONOURED to drink the soursop juice he squeezed with his bare hands.

***** idk dude...have more respect for yourself. I get it. That crap worked great in preschool where most kids are insecure/lack confidence. You're an adult now. Lowering yourself ,in dog shit, to pull others down only works in some nancy story/tv/personal melo - drama. Being a better person focuses on pushing self and others up. The Troll/anonymous makes it worse? You're telling others that we are better then you the coward(you know you are wrong but you're doing it anyway..like a naughty child).. You are better then that. Get yourself together and stop acting like you missed out on some good spankings/parental care.

when he says he he's using brown sugar to sweeten the juice.....he's not using the brown sugar we use here in America... he's using natural raw sugar. another common name for it in the islands is turbinado. it's relatively available for cheap as it is derived from sugar cane which grows in abundance and is indigenous in those areas.
you can find it at your local supermarket and it is sold as a white sugar alternative called... "sugar in the raw".
it tastes sweet (but not that chemically overly sweet taste which white sugar has) and a bit nutty kind of like caramel. it's really great for baking and candy making.

No "sugar" all you can find is White sugar and that stuff is nasty, also over here TEA is no good too. Ask for a cup of tea and they say "what kind?" Haha sweet tea or unsweet tea, nah blood I want a cup of tea with milk from my mums tea pot :)

Let me say her conditions were very much similar to his if not worse. I drank down that amazing juice while the rest of my party watched in horror. How many people get all types of food related sicknesses in the good ole US of A, with all these rules and procedures to ensure all restaurants and foods get a 'passing grade' for health. Ok read comments - Am totally ok with Mokka using is hands. We must remember the food we eat in the western world is not exactly clean they put chemical into meat and also pesticides over vegetables. Last and finally it package so well to tempt customers for pay something you have no idea where it come from. When you are in Jamaica food are grown organically which we have pay arm & leg for in the west.

In Colombia, they hit the Guanabana (this fruit) in a blender and drink it pulp and all. I love it. Avena Company makes a Guanabana yogurt. Very good. Too. And of coarse the it's cancer fighting, the leaves and stems (not the fruit). And it's related to Paw Paw of the USA. Paw Paw is even more effective at cancer fighting, or at least more well studied.

Which indigenous (native, original), people would that be? As far as is known, the originals in JA were the Arawaks also called Tainos. They were eradicated after the Spanish colonized xaymaca (now Jamaica). Ras is a descendant of slaves transplanted via the African diaspora. His fore-parents were brought to JA as slaves, like most Jcans, who today, many are of mixed heritage, african, euro, asian, etc . He seems to have chosen to live his life in the healthier hill climate as a rastafarian, avoiding as much as possible, the issues of the urban metro life. But, he's not original to Ja.
