I literally live 5miles from the Brechfa forest. Shame these stages aren’t used on events anymore. Was only 7 in 91, can’t help but feel I’ve missed out on the best days. Great coverage, this single event typifies why Colin was loved. Flamboyant, fast and sometimes a bit reckless. That smile in the end as well🥺. Brooks as well what a legend of British rallying. Rip
Why isn’t Brechfa Forest used anymore?
@@Ifox95 I’m really not sure tbh. Wales Rally Gb was last there in 07 or 08. I think the last national event was the Red Kite stages in 2010. Don’t think there’s been much there since if anything, whether the forestry commission objected for some reason i don’t know.
On the maps, bigger better challenge. Great leveller
I had a VR4 on the road about this time, fantastic car.
My old co driver and navigator from my road rally days sat with Ramon Ferreyros on several Welsh rallies but not this one.

Thanks for the video, another rally we were out spectating on. The welsh international rally was always one of our favourite rallies to spectate on over the years, back in the day the British British rally championship was the best in the world with top foreign drivers contesting the championship regularly, but in a way it was sad to see with three drivers on the rally no longer with us. Russell Brooke's, Mark Lovell and Colin Mcrae.
The Havoline Sierra Cosworth of Brookes has such a nice livery.
David Llewellyn got some world - class moustache action going there. Everyone knows facial hair is worth an extra 6mph

Wow, I grew up playing in Singleton Park but never knew Colin and co had competed around there.

Fair play to Mcrae, "we ripped a brake pipe off making the car virtually undrivable" but still had a go anyway!
