The first 6 Tiers in Satisfactory are fun, after that I become very overwhelmed and quit those worlds. I regularly go back and start a new one and get excited about it, and get to Tier 6 again.... then quit again. Once I need huge infrastructure that requires more time to develop and get components than a biome doesn't have to another biome... that's where I go.... "yeah I'm done" way too much work to get something going. But that's just from a filthy casual like myself.

This has been my experience exactly. It becomes overwhelming thinking about how or where to even start the next huge project.

@@freakytea2815 I have a similar issue, but the opposite. I KNOW I will have to start the next hige project. Like making a new piece takes me forever because I need to find all the resources I need relatively close by. Tier 6 below is not an issue, but then Baxite is only available in like 2-3 Biomes and need copper, which can't be found in those biomes. So you need to start thinking SUPER big and thinking of connecting biomes, not just resources.

Burnout is when i go back to satisfactory for the 7th time and misalign 504 water pumps that i was using for my reactors so that half my reactors are too close to each other and just stand there and say f it.

if you get burnt out in a sandbox game, it's your own mindset. You pressure yourself too much. You have too high expectations of yourself regarding this game.
you wouldn't sprint a marathon either. Most of you just probably didn't do a marathon to know what pacing means.

That's not really my experience. The projects just become so large and complex that it's exhausting even thinking about starting them. Going one step at a time is of course the way to go, but there's so much planning and complexity involved in the later stages of the game that it's not really possible to do that, at least for me.

Used to be the case that I would burn out quick when playing this game, usually I would quit before or just after unlocking oil, once I made it to tier 7 but after trying to make a train I stopped. However after playing 1.0 I have been really enjoying this game, taking the growth of my factory very slowly and planning out my Mega base along the shoreline, making it look pretty good and giving myself the space to work in a factory that will cover the ocean!
Slow progress, but it doesn't matter to me that I have spent 100 hours in my save without even automating computers and heavy modular frames yet.

I completely understand the need to pace yourself. Too often I try and rush to certain game points and then get so tired of it once I get there I lose interest.

Burnt out just when I got building coal stage a month a go and haven't been back. I should to get those resources and work out how to build it all then redesign the messy base I have...

I can relate man, somewhere 'mid' game, the oil and its restproducts, then having to make endless belts to get it to the factory, it's just to much right? I also think it's a concentration thing, I mean, crafting those first floors, setting up a bigger smelting factory, getting more screws, that's still doable, but then, steel, those assemblers with 3 or 4 inputs, I don't know why, it's just to much right?
So, if we wanna test the brain, play similar games I guess, and here's a nice free tip, the demo of Chocolate Factory on Steam, a very sweet game LOL
Or a game like Foundry, also receipes, power challenges, water boilers and a nice research tree. Lemme know how you are doing or some tips and thoughts from your side.
      Cheers! Jake. ;-)

I started playing Satisfactory on day 1. I was burnt out and stopped playing for well over 3 years. I just started playing against on 1.0 and it feels both new and old, very old at the same time. THis time when I play I'm going to play when I feel like it, and stop when I get distracted. Its not supposed to be a full time job.

I absolutely love the hell out of Satisfactory but as soon as Nuclear shit gets involved then yeah.. I just quit my worlds and usually don't touch the game for at least a couple o' months until I come back again and create a brand new world.

The solution to burnout is to find new ways to game. You create arbitrary goals, and that gives a new expeirence of the game.
For example, I have a "trains only" map, where a given station only creates exactly one product. My next map will be a "no handcrafting" game.

  • @VilkataG

The advice, at least specific to Satisfactory, that I give new players is to not focus on the end product, but rather the next step. Most people I've talked to that burn out on this game get there because they feel overwhelmed by the increasing complexity of each new item.
I'm in the process of wrapping up a map i started in January of 2022, with over 800 hours of work into it, and I'm still loving the game as much as on day one. As content creators, burnout can manifest a little different for us with the pressure to always present something new, but in the end the same principles apply. Think about what you enjoy about the game, find a way to play to that strength, and don't let yourself get overwhelmed. It's not a competition, play to have fun.
    Nice brand, btw. - V

I'm not really burned out by Satisfactory, admittedly there are issues as the game is still early access, I've killed monsters multiple times and I'm still dealing with their resurrection.
I've still got a long way to go having reached tier 8, there are dozens of manufacturing processes i haven't even started.

I relate to this so much. I’m currently sitting through my like 4th play through of satisfactory. But every time I’ve played through it I get to like phase 2 and burnout cuz I have all these ideas but never have the confidence or feel happy with how I want to do something so eventually I just stop playing. It’s so frustrating cuz every time I do a play through I can get to coal power and complete all the tiers up to tier 4 but trying to complete phase 2 I just get so pooped and quit

It's common for these games but for me it was the part when 1-2 of a product takes the Satisfactory calculator and still some excel spreadsheets to work. Unless someone really likes maths I would say it's quite discouraging, hopefully they'll balance the end game requirements as mentioned. The second part is FOMO and playing with friends/community compared to playing just solo. These games can get a lot different if you just build for yourself or progress, compared to playing together. Lastly it's easy to get caught up on struggling between doing visuals compared to doing efficient factories. Mainly it's time management but if you're doing one too much instead of the other or mixing it, the tediousness can hurt the player too.
Overall a great game, just how we approach it can make a lot of difference. And this is coming from a 38 year old gamer just having a firstborn, maybe it's me :). Wish you well on the channel.

While I haven't used that particular mod, I've played with and without mods since update 2, and it's always a new and awesome time! I also think Kibbs finally "finishing the game" played a part for the break. When 1.0 does come out, I have a week of unused vacation set aside for the full dive back in😂
