      Jeremy was probably on vacation and took a couple hours out of his day to film that bit, whats hard to believe about it? There is only 6 episodes of TG in 1 year. In this case you will be getting pulled back, if the car is any good quite hard. So to use that pull action rather than fight it to push something forward makes heaps of sense. Military vehicles of some sort do the same, i cant remember which so not going to specify.

  • @kroneyt1493
    @kroneyt1493 2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

    The problems he outlined here are still prevalent in newer X6's and most modern SUV's too. Terrible visibility, little to no superior storage space over a station wagon or a hatchback, and sometimes even worse off-roading or in snow than a regular sedan or coupe that's lighter and more agile than something this big and needlessly bulky which is more prone to getting stuck in mud or snow, size and weight also contributing to higher emissions, worse fuel economy, the car being slower, and since it's an SUV it's also got a higher center of gravity which means that you're actually in more danger when you're hit by somebody because you're more prone to rolling over, and because you're taller, the likelihood is that if you DO roll over, you're gonna get more hurt.
    Simply put, if you want a cheap car, get an economy car. A Toyota Corolla or Honda Civic are nice, reliable ways to go. If you want a practical car, get a pickup truck. Toyota Tacoma if you want a mid-size truck, or a Ford F150 if you want a full size one - something with a good bed weight and towing capacity. If you want a fast car, get a sports car. I personally would recommend a Subaru WRX or a Chevrolet Camaro, but there are many more out there that are also very nice. If you want a luxury focused car, get a luxury car! Volvo and Lexus make very nice luxury cars, Lincoln USED to but now they're dropping all of their sedans for SUV's which... doesn't solve anything.
    SUV's add nothing to the table. They're not even a jack of all trades since they're good at pretty much nothing. Stop buying them.

    Okay, this was uploaded in 2010, so I'll just run with the assumption that it was filmed in 2010 as well, and that prices for these things haven't really gone up at all except for inflation. He mentions the price of the X6 starting at 42,000 pounds back then which is about 68,900 pounds today. Obviously flights change price depending on the day, but we can gauge that he also:
    - Went from England to Sydney, Australia, probably from London. Nowadays that is about 732 pounds, back then it would have been 446 pounds.
    - Went from England to Spain, probably from London to Madrid. Nowadays that's about 35 pounds, back then it would have been about 21 pounds.
    - Went from England to the highest peak in the alps on the French, Italian border, probably from London to Annecy. Nowadays that's about 53 pounds, back then it would have been about 32 pounds.
    - Went from England to Hong Kong, probably from London. Nowadays that's about 583 pounds, back then it would have been about 355 pounds.
    - Went from England to Barbados, probably from London. Nowadays that's about 509 pounds, back then it would have been about 310 pounds.
    Added up, the total cost of the trip back then would have been 1,164 pounds back then, or roughly 1,909 pounds today. Now these are rounded numbers based on the results I'm looking at today, and based on what Google says about economy flights, and don't account for hotels or anything to the sort. Chances are, Jeremy found another X6 in Australia and Hong Kong, and just had the car shipped on the Eurostar to Spain and France. All that put together, all of those trips probably wouldn't have added up to the price of the X6 unless he spent a large sum of time at each location, meaning that this actually was decently economical relative to buying the BeamerW.

    Even though it's a pretty stupid car, it actually sold pretty well. I see them in Toronto very often.

    This design has to be one of the most popular suv designs now. Mercedes ripped it off with the GLE and GLCS. BMW still uses it and uses it on other variants too not only the X6.
    Its crazy succesful imo

    2021 - compared to the subsequent X6 released on the market, this generation was the best looking one. it's just nice to look at.

    The X6 is definitely not designed for an off road drive unlike the Range Rover. I've owned a Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Hyundai, etc and the X6M was fantastic. I don't know about the xdrive50i, but the X6M was fast and strong. 0-60 was about 4.5 seconds... It's an SUV
