      @@onlycars_zaThe V6 petrol motor does the job better and is more capable for those conditions than the V8 turbo diesel that 70-S LCs get. Also the outputs of the V8 are shy for it's displacement and +2 cyl no. when compared.

    The 70 series is King in Saudi Arabia! You can literally go to a mountain village in the south and only see two door versions. Similarly the pickups are ubiquitous among the Bedouins. It so durable and you can also find spare parts in almost any rural gas station or corner store!

    If you want the most reliable car you can buy, You buy a Toyota 70 series. You buy a 70 series because it always starts. That are , notoriously durable and reliable. I am absolutely in love with this off roader.
    Land Cruiser 70 series is one of the greatest creations in the world of vehicles.
    Reliability, durability, simplicity, easy to maintain and timeless design, which are not found in today's vehicles, are more important than electronic devices and features. Its V8 engine and manual gearbox make this vehicle even more lovable. It's a feeling that binds us to the vehicle. And the exhaust makes some of the best music I've ever heard. People who know the value of LC 70 series know that they can go anywhere without any problem.

    Seriously…. Anyone who’s into Toyota 4x4s knows the FJ Company is the best at what they do. I hope he knows that. We trust everything he creates is going to be tip top…

    I’m no expert in these, but they are everywhere where I live. Aren’t these like $40-50k usd new in the Middle East? The thousands of mine sites in Australia use the LHD ones from the Middle East because they’re the cheapest. Not because the Arabic writing is cool.
    In Western Australia you could spend from $500-5000 getting a 25+ yo car/chassis, it’ll be a project/shed but depending on condition you could break it up and recoup costs and you got a free chassis. For reference someone I know bought a rollover mining LC79 for $1500 AUD it has a seized v8 diesel, he then bought a good second hand cab for around $1500 also.
    Isn’t the trooper body also the least valuable of these?

      That's correct. We always want what we can't have. Oz has 70s that the US can't get. The US has big, powerful pickups, and Oz has to chop luxury SUVs to get a ute that isn't as good. Grass is always greener. :-)

      @@gmbb315search through some Australian 79 series content. A lot of TH-cam channels over here modify and do hard touring/overland and off-road work. Channels such as Explore Life, 4wd 24/7, Ronny Dahl, Rocket Rod etc.
      We only get the V8. It's a premium vehicle for what it is, a few companies also do auto conversions which really transform them .. but again very expensive. TJ & Mac (Shed Life) have a great build using a BMW auto, Rocket Rod from Wholesale Automatics has been Toyota auto swaps for years, his 79 has been used heavily and is quite impressive.

    Wow, thats an expensive exercise as they aren't cheap to buy new, then to go through all that and import 😮 I can understand the demand in the US however.
    Its crazy what we pay for the 80s based vehicle here in Australia. But most want them for the diesel V8 thing slapper... well over there flip flop slapper ad thats how they sound with an exhaust 😂
    They do make great tourers if you can live without the luxury and do look the goods with all the kit. You only have to see how many modded 79 dual cabs are floating around hear in Australia. People will invest upwards of $200k on a build which I imagine is a lot in US dollars. It looksike the rear track matches the front which Toyota just wont fix for the V8 models we get here in Australia...

    what is the reason for toyota not selling it to the US?

    • @OrcaTigerUnite
      @OrcaTigerUnite 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

      Won’t meet safety and emissions. Emissions could be easy if they offered the 1gr option only. Problem is the rest of the body would require extensive modification that would deem it too expensive to accommodate 1 country. For the price they sell for it would also be difficult for the usa market sales wise. Imagine convincing an American to spend 70-100k on a vehicle that is only offered in a manual with barely any luxury. Not enough interest for Toyota to put money into to. Only enthusiasts would buy it and that’s not enough for Toyota to make it legal for low sales.

    • @OrcaTigerUnite
      @OrcaTigerUnite 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@gzahnd this law didn’t help for sure but wouldn’t have stopped Toyota. It would limit the 70-74 models since they were 2 door suvs as well as the 75 and 79 since they were “pickup trucks.” However the 77 (ie hzj77 now replaced with the 76) was a 4 suv door model and that would have technically not meet the tariff. Besides if there were enough demand such as the small Toyota pickup (Tacoma) , they would’ve just built a plant here or in North America to circumvent the tariffs.

    • @gzahnd
      @gzahnd 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@OrcaTigerUnite Yeah. I can only imagine that them shipping one 70 Series variant to the US simply made no sense economically since they were shipping the 4Runner and 60 Series, and then 80 Series. Imagine the world had that first Toyota plant in Kentucky in the 80s had made 70 Series Land Cruisers rather than Camrys. :-) That era was peak fuel efficiency demand, so the LC never had a chance in that regard!

    • @OrcaTigerUnite
      @OrcaTigerUnite 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      I agree with you, but I think they are using the 1gr for cost and availability. In Latin America the gas cruisers are the most popular and more available. Had a friend just buy one in Costa Rica. He had to import his vdj76 from the uae since he was limited to the grj76 from Toyota there. But these vehicles being built by them are really meant for those with more disposable income that can’t be bothered with building it themselves. I’ve had my hzj77 for a while now here in the states and my plan was to modernize it just like they did. I’m sticking with diesel for now but I have all the rear body panels to convert it into an hzj79 double cab. Going to stretch the frame, upgrading the interior and updating the front end. All for a fraction of what these guys are charging.

    this is a grey area. not so long ago some company did this with the defenders. Long story short U.S customs caught up with them took all the trucks to crusher even those that were sold. Plus it is completely unecessary to do all this crap. Just get a low millage 25 year old. Pretty easy to do in latin american and import it to the U.S

    150k for an old Land Cruiser?

    • @OrcaTigerUnite

      Yes and no. It’s the price you pay to have something that was never allowed in the states. New where legal these do sale for much less but wherever it’s not legal you have to pay a premium. They are practily restoring an old 70 series to modern spec with new Toyota parts.

      Middle East this Middle East that.
      Pick up an ls400 for $1200 and you can treat it like it should be. I got my rare blue one for a bit more but they are all over the dunes. With an even better climate control system.

      @@MrMadmeadsthey absolutely do not go for 150k usd here in Aus lmao. 120k aud is what you’d get for one that’s really tricked out. Which is only 79k usd btw.

    If purchased- Toyota build quality for Landcruiser usually last for lifetimes. Unlike todays planned obsolescence “designed for failure” 🤷🏻‍♂️

    So basically you want me to pay $150k for a Land Cruiser that probably isn’t as reliable as the older model? 150k for ABS, EFI, Traction control? The more electronics you have the less reliable it will be. Remember that these trucks see mud, water, river, dirt, etc so the less electronics the better
