Really like this watch. Of all 4 modern Rolex GMT’s this one makes the most sense: Black for evening hours, blue for daylight hours. Also, the blue 24hr hand blends into the background and is only there when you need it

since you mentioned not wanting to do math, there's another way to use the bezel! Instead of reading the 24-hour scale and using the GMT hand, you can rotate the bezel however many hours forward or backward for the time zone, then I orient my wrist such that the bezel's 12 o clock triangle is pointing vertically, and then re-reading the time from the hands using that new orientation. if you're only dealing with +/-3 hours anyway, lol. another fun bezel trick if you never use it: you can use the 12 o'clock triangle as a marker for the start or end of casually timing an event, aligning the triangle with the minute hand either at the present time or however many minutes ahead. it's like a poor man's chronograph in that way!

For your note about the older Jubilee clasp, I've heard that you can switch the clasp with the newer Oyster to get micro-adjustment on the Jubilee. Also, I was planning on modding a two-tone Root Beer (once I got it) with an exhibition caseback and with the older 36mm Rose Gold Datejust jubilee, but the online negativity towards that sort of thing was making me second-guess. It's nice to hear that real Rolex owners aren't so averse to having fun with their watches.
Probably the only time I would pick one of these up is if it's by chance. I've moved on to different brands because time is too short to wait on some wait list when I need to purchase other watches I don't want to get the one I might. I can that on my own well enough.
I have the newer one on the jubilee and love it. I would say it‘s my most comfortable watch - and really accurate. I wore it for a full week recently and at the end of the seven days it had gained 2 seconds. I call it my „murder-y watch“ and I tend to wear it more in the winter so it‘s covered by my jacket sleeve when I‘m out in public. But I‘ve spent all my money on watches so I live in a terrible neighborhood.
But the part about memories being associated with a timepiece. This is definitely great advice because every time you wear it, those memories will flood back in and make your day brighter.
I got a batgirl last Thursday after a painful wait of almost 2 year and 3 days later I got a call for a Kermit from a different AD 😂 how crazy is that 😂
I'm currently at month 11 on the wait for the batman gmt. Signed up for it in January 2024 at 2 rolex ADs. Time will tell how long it will take or if i will ever get the call. I dont have spend history with them after all

Back in 2015, during a layover in Seoul’s Incheon Airport, the Rolex Duty Free shop had a 116710BLNR available for sale, for just $8600, based on the exchange rate, at that time. I told the salesman I would pass, since I already owned a Sub and Datejust. To this day, that is still my biggest watch regret.
@@garyboyle695 it's not the price that's unbelievable, it's a the availability that can't be believed. AD's absolutely will NOT sell you a bracelet for a watch that you don't own. Heck, I own the BLNR and they won't even sell me a Jubilee for it! So, just getting that bracelet is the "bargain". Still, yes, the prices of Rolex bracelets are indeed ridiculous.
There are so few watches that have a rotating bezel and a 24hr inner chapter ring. The Seiko SSK and Grand Seiko GMT Sport are the only that come to mind. Really wish Rolex and others would consider doing this to make it easy to simultaneously track 3 time zones. I ended up making a Seiko GMT mod using NH34 movement and made one myself. Maybe some of the microbrands using Miyota 9075 will consider incorporating that feature.
I absolutely love this watch! But the downside is the Rolex marketing baggage and all that comes with that. The other negative is these watches being recognizable to the would be criminals if you dare to wear it in certain places! In contrast, there are many other high end watches that don't have these negatives.
And that is why Rolex are despised by many. It's a mass produced stainless steel watch for god's sake. Please don't embarrass yourself by saying it's an AD and not a Rolex problem. It is a Rolex problem as they authorised the AD's.

In the video he was referring to the second generation Batman that was initially only available on the Jubilee (Batgirl), but then later was offered on either bracelet. First generation was Oyster only, no Jubilee option from the factory.

It felt so bad on the wrist, rather cheap for what I was expecting, having owned several watches from Rolex before (116520, 228238, 126718). Also, the colors just didn't click with me irl. My AD knew I am getting this not from him, he told me fair and square how long the wait will be and I said I don't really wanna wait it out, so no bad blood there. It was one of those quickshot decisions in life that I got out of with just a black eye.

I hate the experience, the greasing of palms, I’ve got 2 other watches and it was so much easier with those.

My watch was purchased 2 years ago from MAMACOO and, to this day, it still looks and runs as well as it did the day it arrived. That movement has never missed a beat despite never having been serviced. I can't complain about that.

Had one, sold it, was the most disappointing watch I ever bought. Was damaged when I bought it, Rolex fixed it but scratched the bezel insert, bracelet was sticky, Cyclops misaligned and it kept bad time. Rolex CS was terrible too. Never buying into the brand again ..... Leave it for the youtubers
I really don't worry about it much. I rarely stay out late and even when I do I'm with a lot of people. Plus criminals tend to stay away from me because my face is weird.

I'm in awe of Garmin's latest athletic watch. Mind blowing. Laptop and smartphone on your wrist. From the minute I saw that watch, I completely lost interest in all these silly old mechanical and automatic watches. For 99% of these old watch brands, the value proposition is so bad. Paying 10k for a stainless steel automatic diver... lmao. You could actually buy full set of scuba gear (including a dive computer) and charter a dive vacation in the Caribbean for 10k.

Putting 24 on a dial is illogical. There are no times that begin 24xx. Putting 00 works make more sense as there are 00xx times of the day.
