    Hey Dan C, I am not too sure if beard oil along with beard wash/conditioner really simulates the grow of beard. I always think its the genes inside the person that allows the beard to growth to maximum, but I can definitely be wrong in all levels. I just don'
    t see anything happening, but I always watch your videos to learn what other ideas can I can do to keep the beard healthy besides eating clean and exercising.

    • @DanCBearded

      Oh beards 100% percent grow better with quality wash and quality oil, as compared to not using them. They aren’t miracle or magic, but unhealthy habits (not washing for example) certainly slow growth

    I had lunch yesterday with my brother, he's always complained about having a patchy beard. I gave him a heated brush and some oils for Christmas... He's had a circle beard for years, but never took care of it .. since starting a good wash and oil routine, he said the dry scaily skin has become soft again! And where it was really dry the hairs that stopped grown have returned! His mustache is fuller than it has ever been, imma send him this video, this might be something to add to the peppermint rosemary oil routine...

    That totally makes sense Dan! I agree that washing the beard is a vital part of aiding the growth cycle of the beard 👍interesting about the topical caffeine, that sounds like an interesting wash I might have to try! I've used body washes and shampoos with caffeine in them, I think they were advertised as just adding "invigoration" to the wash. It would make sense that it could stimulate the hair follicles 👍
    Great video Dan! 👏👏

    Thank you Sensei. Happy Friday :) This is just a theory of mine, but I myself am convinced the oils and conditioners in beard washes affects the application of mustache wax and balm. So those that are styling up afterwards might want to purchase a wash with less oil content.

    Kafxbody has caffeine infused oils and wash. Problem I have is oil only has 30 day shelf life. According to the maker they source it from actual coffee somehow. I’ve yet to check it out. Now I may just try Volt Wash or add it to my beard wash collection

    Interesting information as always. So i m gonna say something but im not 100% sure and i dont have any evidence about it. Usually in summertime im drinking 6-7 cold coffees the day because i work 16 hours the day. I know that much coffee is nit healthy but i have the feeling that my beard grows faster during this period. I see the difference from the photos i keep in my beard journey file. But again im saying that i cant be sure if its the caffeine from the amount of coffee i drink. Im looking forward for your video about it dan. Keep doing the great job you do for all of us.❤

    Dan, I usually wash my beard at night; for the morning I just give it a rinse to apply the oil.
    But I also use beard balm after wash at night. Do you recommend that I wash the beard for the morning? I don't know if the rinse makes the wax from balm go to the skin..

    Interesting info to be sure. However, after 3 heart ablations, with the last one in 2016 leaving me pacemaker dependent, I discovered at that time that caffeine and my heart DO NOT play well together. Haven't had a cup of coffee, or ingested any form of caffeine since October 2016. I would be interested to know if topical application of caffeine would have the same affect on my heart as ingesting caffeine does or would it not affect my heart at all. Something for professor Dan to ponder over.

    Okay, here goes - since i am new to the beard game. And at times its really heard to figure out whats the right course of action. Few weeks ago i got started with some starter pack which was alreadyy replaced by more professional products. I really enjoy to cultivate my beard. With arround 1.2cm i have kept it rather short so far, since it was the max my trimmer allowed for. Now i got one with a range of up to 2cm and i wanna grow it at least to this point. Questions:
    1) So its fine to use a quality wash every day? I heard quite some people saying you should only use it 2 - 3 times a week.
    2) Due to length oil would be enough. But i hear some people use oil twice a day. Is there anything wrong going with oil in the early morning, but instead of using it twice to go with balm the second time later that day? Thats what i do now since i really like both products i got. Oil for general purpose, balm to give it just a wee bit of edge.

    • @DanCBearded
      @DanCBearded  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      1) yes, daily wash!
      2) just oil is fine at that length, with beard wash or course. Nothing wrong with oil and balm either

    Topical caffeine is known to be a dht blocker so it would help the head hair to grow not the beard as it depends on dht to grow 😅

    • @DanCBearded
      @DanCBearded  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Could you share the studies for that? Genuinely would love to see. I have found it compared to DHT blockers just because it increases blood circulation. Which has shown results with improving scalp hair growth. Hence the correlation with DHT blockers. I have not found anything that actually proves it is a DHT blocker topically

      @@georgehany3540 Checking it out now and I have actually read this one several times before now that I see it. Not a ton of information in it and even less relevant information, if we are trying to avoid the dreaded confirmation bias (either way). Here was the biggest line for me "The proposed mechanism which would counteract DHT-induced miniaturization of the hair follicle include inhibition of phosphodiesterase by caffeine, which increases cAMP levels in cells and therefore promotes proliferation by stimulating cell metabolism." While it sounds sexy on the surface, it isn't actually proven and doesn't have much to do with beard growth other than HEAVILY inferring and making assumptions. This is just looking at how caffeine limits the negative effects (miniaturization of the hair) of DHT on head hair. Nothing about blocking DHT itself, just that negative impact. It does not cover anything about DHT and its POSITIVE impacts on the beard. If caffeine stop miniaturization, that is irrelevant to the beard. I do not think anyone can make that jump you stated in your original comment, based on this study. Especially when that study is the second google result for the search "does topical caffeine block dht". In most cases this could be at best an example of confirmation bias.
      Please keep the studies coming as you find them though! I am doing this for real and want all angles of information.
