Days of promises seem to be behind us. We are now seeing real time development and supporting infrastructure. We are also seeing private sector companies announcing signed and approved real estate developments. These will serve as catalyst for other sectors such as housing, food distribution, supermarkets, gas stations, fast food etc.

Very difficult to do. It is the main source of income for many

The development is welcomed however, public beaches must remain public and the should be no all inclusive resorts as all the income will go to foreigners. The moneys must circulate in St Thomas parish and the rest of the country before leaving the island. We should promote buying local or this will be another Negril where the hotels are booming but the locals just get the scraps.

Thank you for your prudent and timely advocacy for St.Thomas.We have some basic infrastructure for tourism development and the government took note.First we have the Bowden Wharf that can accommodate cruise ships of any size and a natural harbor in the backdrop. The Rocky Point white sand beach is approximately 6 miles long. However I would like the name of the beach changed as not to confuse it with another beach in Clarendon also named Rocky Point.
We also have to catch and relocate the many crocodiles that traverse our beaches. The last thing we need to happen is a tourist be eaten by a crocodile.

Let Clarendon change there’s. It is valuable and sentiment to most of us who grew up there. Such a bizarre suggestion. All other points I support.

@@yagga8885 when it comes to tourist dollars we want to make sure there is no confusion concerning logistics.St Thomas has been in the dark for a very long time and we want to minimize errors.

That is great but the government has to take an interest in the wages that these hotels pays the workers

I have mixed feelings about this so call tourism push. There goes our beaches into private hands.

lt is nice that the roads to the bath fountain will get upgraded but the fountain business is out of control and hijacked by the locals

Seriously! Where do they get employees and some of the agricultural produce needed to feed the tourist. Where do you thing the country is getting money from to build pretty road to drive on. Would you prefer if all these people were sitting at home doing nothing. The biggest problem with Jamaica is the lack of education. A significant portion of the population cannot matriculate into a decent paying job. However overtime change will happen but as a country we have to start from somewhere

Ms. Johnson lolzzzzzz..you eat Condru and Bartlet bait cake man lolzzzzzzzzz.....thats what I think lolzzzz....Look WE did not all jump for joy at the completion of 1 mile of road after 4 years lolzzzz...some of us saw we that we were and we still are being robbed of our taxes. Ms. Johnson, do you know how many times Goodyear has had a ribbon cutting ceremony? Thrice lolzzz...Yup 3 times. But lets not go there, lets discuss tourism. Why on earth do people think that big hoteliers provide lucrative jobs...I shouldn't have to tell you Ms. Johnson that really its slavery. Real money from tourism should come through the cottage industry, so the money stays on the ground. Anyway, ofcourse 4000 hotel rooms with 205 million in investment but the comunities still have tracks for roads..(well mine does lolzzz), no burn unit at hospital..well no beds at hospitals (island wide) lolzzzz....and barely any internet connectivity in the more rural areas and barely any water in our pipes lolzzz..I wonder what will happen when ALL of the water passes my home to go to the toilets of these hotel rooms lolzzzzzz......Lets face it...may of you have taken to bait...there is no shame in it though....TIME..time will tell.....In the mean time PNP and JLP can evaporate for all I care...I LIKE St. Thomas is looking forward to CHANGE! There is nothing that the PNP or JLP can give to me now after 78 years that would have me vote for them. Yup by next year each party would have seen the same amount of time in parliament and look at my country. UIC to the world!

And the commentary continues. You have articulated what many are saying. All I say is time is the master. Let's see what happens before 2023 gets here.
