Our towns are blighted by unsightly chaos due to lack of deliberate town planning going back a century and more. We urgently need to deal with this physical and social blight which plays a huge role in disorder and indiscipline leading to crime and societal breakdown. I hope these urban plans will be implemented soon and not just talked about as happened in the past.
Jamaica's towns are blighted also because the rurally/grassroots driven economy remains weak...local businesses do not have the financial incentive to build out or properly maintain impressive structures...
Jamaica 🇯🇲 is missing out by not having a modernized sports and film industry, $US billions in losses, create on a regular, professional films that can be streamed worldwide, construct football stadiums, construct arenas for boxing, basketball, indoor concerts, events etc.
its not that they wouldn't build those thing but they don't want to maintain it, for example look at the national stadium field ..the jamaica team coach was shake there is not good field in jamaica
Those infrastructure, If you live in USA Canada or Europe are always projects that the private sector are investing and not tax payers and as such it should not be the government of jamaica taking limited tax payers money to do these investments. We Jamaicans want government to get involved in these projects and we have a history already of making bad decisions which have become white elephant. We have the stadium in Trelawny as an example where we borrow 30 million USD from China to build and we only host 1 international event over 20 years ago. KD Knight borrow money from China to build a sports facility in his constituency when he was MP and that has become a white elephant. Government should be spending money on education, health, roads and pension and a small amount on wages
Yes, these 2 parishes, Portland and St. Thomas really needs this type of development 👏 🙌 Congrats, Prime Minister Andrew Holness 👏 😀
Wow !!! This is good 😮Prime Minister Andrew Holness is really a Builder and loves the industry 😮

This does not look like PORT Antonio,
Haven't you heard of ai?
This land looks better for tourism.
Jamaica can't put her eggs in one basket covid teach us the uncertainty of tourism.
Everything can't be and centered around tourism.
No..
You do realise that there are people that live in Jamaica, right? The country is not just for tourists who come for a week and leave.
And how is this project inconsistent with other developments? Jamaicans still need a central point to access various Govt. services.

Already planned I think contracts are about to be awarded
