- We now have a stop light in St. Thomas and travel with me as I test the theory of only 20 minutes from Downtown Kingston to Yallahs, St. Thomas.
I feel very good for the residents of St.Thomas ,loving the progress of the development! Here in Mobay steady progress making on our bypass.

I was last in Jamaica in July and all this was so-so dust and bugu bugu for miles. My family is from Bath and Airy Castle and for YEARS we were told there was no way to improve the road or get a train cause it was too hilly. Tank God fe de chiney dem!😊

Your safety is a priority, so please make sure you car is Road worthy especially when you’re driving on wet roads.
The reason why your car aqua-plain was because your tires tread are at their minimum level, thus preventing traction when driving through puddles at speed, you can check your tyre thread depth by using your finger tips to feel if the line between the threads are level with the portion of the tyre that’s making contact with the road surface.
If this is the case you will need to replace them with matching sets so that they can disperse the water evenly without the vehicle looking traction.

Therapeutic journey home, huh. Loving it I really do share your joy along with other Eastern Jamaican residents - it's massive, tremendous development and it's not even complete.
It still have to connect to Port Antonio inner St Thomas, etc. Also the Good Year lands development. Recently in relation to the Logistic Hub, there was talk of a port to be constructed in the Cow Bay area - that' more added development as well.
Things are looking up.

Great commentary from mountain view,done a journey from half way tree year ago on a motor bike to Morant bay
Everything looks completely different.
Back in Ja in July, should be in the harbour view area,so will try out the journey if life speare.

Thanks for your lovely content. As a safety measure I think some warning signs should be erected to warn motorists that they are approaching a traffic light. Especially folks who don’t traverse that road way regularly.
They are there, but not seen by you due to the position of my camera. Also they are not yet finished. Some final touches are being made.

@@michaelottey3969 It also depends on where you start counting from; the time of day (which accounts for traffic); the bad roads (still under construction) to navigate; the type of vehicle you are driving; and the weather condition. So, we can't just make a vague judgment!!

Very nice I have been away for so long I would never recognized the route. How about a video on Three Finger Jack I understand that area has now been developed?
They are still working on that.
This is a good first start. We just need proper town development, so that people don't put up structures willy-nilly. That would lead to chaos, like in other parts of the country. They need to finish the road and put up signs and mark the lanes correctly. Then they can start selling lots along the road for all kinds of business and housing schemes. But the key is to make everything affordable and make the place more livable, by having landscaping, sidewalks and rules to prevent unfinished development or development that doesn't jive with the general character of the community. Jamaica can thrive!

Great video. However, please note that the stop light is not the first stop light in St Thomass. The first one was erected when the Bailey bridge was erected where the Yallahs Bridge is now. It was later washed away during a hurricane.

Everything seems to be a lot over 3 million Jamaican for lots if you can access them. I well do a drive through different communities in the new year. On which day and at what time of day did the take 20 minutes? Were they obeying the speed limit? Where on Mountain View did they begin their time check?
If you are able tonwatch the video you would see the details. The time check was taken from the Stadium and again on Windward road and again in Harbout view. More details if you watch the full video. Enjoy.
It depends on where you start timing from. From Stadium to Yallahas, 30 minutes (the length of the video) is good timing. But, it should take you around 20 minutes if you start counting from windward road, at rockfort, in good weather and no other delays; at a normal speed.

We do not have an alternate route. So toll would be illegal since there would not be an alternative.

i would like to see better use of the road by drivers i.e. use of the left lane only, except for overtaking manoeuvres, parking, servicing of toad resources or ongoing construction.

There should be overhead crosswalks for the pedestrians and barriers blocking people from crossing the busy highway. Proper signage also need to be implemented for construction zones. Who's really running the show?

On careful observation of the video, the 20 minutes to Yallahas began from the Rockfort area. That is good enough timing at normal speed. So, it all depends on where you start timing from.
