- Ranking all of the BEST Glaives, Halberds & Pikes inBaldur's Gate 3 on a tier list. This is all the Extra Reach Weapons in BG3 and some of them are fantastic! I want to talk about some of these weapons because the extra reach can be really night alongside the polearm master or the Sentinel feats as you can stop an enemy dead in the tracks using this. one of the best benefits of these weapons is the extra effects that come with them. So that is basically the biggest decider on which is going to be in which tier as some of them don't give the best benefits, or just have +1 enhancement. Some of these weapons have a huge benefit and then you don't even have to use the weapon as it's buff can apply to someone else.
These are great weapons with polearm master or sentinel!
Let me know what Tier List you would like to see next in Baldur's Gate 3

Freshen up, flavor up! Extra Gum
hahaha bro
Returning Pike is definitely S tier for a few reasons.
You don't need a +2 or +3 for a thrown weapon. Tavern Brawler will add the extra bonus to hit anyways. Returning is huge and rare, only available to a few weapons but the biggest benefit is the fact that this weapon is heavy. You'll often be doing some extra crushing damage, sometimes more than even your Piercing Damage. Plus it's early act 1
Yeah very true and that’s why they make it rare in honor mode! It’s so good for something you get so early. I prefer Nyrulna in act 3 but it’s so good
You would keep returning pike in your throwers inventory. They can select it when they dont want the aoe damage from Nyrulna. Plus its a backup in case something does not return to your hand
Yeah that’s a good choice!
aaaaayy the video ive been waiting for. i said the other day in one of your comments that the reach weapons in bg3 don't seem to get a lot of love (exception for returning pike)
They really deserve more love because they’re so fun. Halberd of vigilance + polearm master and sentinel and you can stop people from approaching your team and make it so they can’t move any closer, without being close enough to attack! Super underrated
Iirc the thing bout sorrow is in early access, Halsin is the one who kills Isobel (with this glaive) which leads to the whole thing with the shadow curse. This is why Halsin feels responsible for the curse and why our character says whatever they say about the weapon.
I think that's how it goes
Ahhhh that would make total sense! Thanks for sharing that
I've misplaced the returning pike more than once, which is a very annoying mistake.
Yeah it’s the returning pike, but it certainly doesn’t want to return often. If you accidentally throw it on the ground it doesn’t return it has to hit an enemy but even then it’s a bit unreliable at times
Nyrulna is my fav 😍 (it’s a Trident tho)
You feel like Poseidon with it and you don’t need Eldritch Knight or Pact of the Blade. It auto returns if you throw it (which is good damage especially with the ring of flinging) does Thunder damage. And for melee fights, you get the extra reach. I love it on Storm Sorc/Tempest Cleric Shadowheart. Goddess of Storms!
Great tier list man! I like that you’ve made playlists for them too! So I can just let it play based on the topic (I.e. bg3 builds, and bg3 tier lists)
@@Quantum_Bluntz I love Nyrulna it’s seriously so good! The auto return makes it so good on a throwzerker. You don’t get extra reach but you get extra 3m movement speed and jumps which is even better!!
It’s by far better than every weapon on this tier list 😂
@@JasonDunna oh yeah also instead of extra reach it comes with Zephyr Flash. It’s like a lightning dash but it’s good if you need a little extra reach
Unseen menace plus bhaal armor is godly
Oh heck yeah!! Vulnerability to piercing is awesome
One nice thing about the Drakethroat is that you don't even need it equipped to use the weapon enhancement ability.
You can also give it to a sorcerer and twin cast it on two different weapons on the floor
Yesss that’s my favorite part. Buff up your teams weapons / sorcerer twin it and you’re good to go
Before watching I'm going to go ahead and assume that the Unseen Menace is S-tier.
BINGO! You get it so early and it’s by far the best pike
My only issue with unseen menace is that I wish it looked better when not invisible
Strong agree
Ah, I'm the freak then who thinks it looks great even when visible, though I'm a sucker for all these spear like weapons especially on the characters backs when walking around
@@J.sh_CDN I don't even know what it looks like when it's visible.
Only human and half-elf rogues are proficient with glaives.
@@neilpacheco622 if you play a rogue you should never go 12 levels in it! Way too weak that way. Gloom stalker ranger or fighter will add proficiencies
I'm not the most experienced with DND but I dont know why I havent seen any gwm rogue builds I did a playthrough with a rogue paladin and the finesse longsword from the creche and sneak attack was pretty much 1 tapping everyone
I might have to experiment again with a rogue fighter. I like 11 fighter rogue 1 for the 3 attacks and one of them being sneak attack. But 5-7 or somewhere around there could be good with GWM Phalar Aluve
Is there any reason to use a halberd/glaive over a two handed weapon? 2d6 is greater than 1d10
Polearm master feat benefits these weapons, and they have extra reach so you can stop enemies with a reaction and keep them away from your team
I know The Impaler can be acquired only via console commands, but how would you rate it with the rest?
Reach weapons are the best weapons
@@quasarsword7479 agreed!! So good with polearm master and sentinel feats
"I have it packed away" so get it out damn do the video around your camp so you can draw the weapon out easily especially if it looks cool it would add value to the video to see it.
Didn’t realize I had it in the chest sorry. This is actually at camp in act 3
You would keep returning pike in your throwers inventory. They can select it when they dont want the aoe damage from Nyrulna. Plus its a backup in case something does not return to your hand
Yeah that’s a good choice!
