Nice vid, Ed! :D Would add a few things from this: 1) Maxing your Grand Companies (and, in turn, Command and Squadron missions) 2) Blue Mage things (Spell Acquisition and Masked Carnival) 3) Mounts (from Extreme trials) and Achievement Hunting (particularly ones that have additional rewards like Titles, Mounts, Minions, etc.)

I was a former free trial player for 8 months before subbing for the story! I highly recommend that you do atleast one Zodiac weapon as a free trial player. This way you'll have a goal as to why you need every single crafter/gatherer job at 50+. It takes a lot more effort yes, but the result is quite worth it!
It does feel rewarding as a free trial player to do the relic weapons since your max level is only 60, you don't have access to the marketboard and you'll really need a party to do some of the dungeons/fates for the quests (especially the dreaded light farm phase) 😆 I actually did the Zodiac weapon for my bard 2 months ago before Endwalker released. Took me 2 (or 3?) weeks to finish. I'd imagine it would've taken me a longer time if I did that on free trial 🤣
@@edwarudo oh I had the pleasure ( read : horror ) of doing a zodiac weapon on a free trial. The first few quests are the same for everyone. The materia step wasn't too hard. It's the step at the end where you need different items for the last 4 quests (ponze of flesh etc.,) which was hands down the most frustrating and infuriating step as a free trial.
@@WiseFatOwl I think the materia step is hard on free trial if you don't actively extract the materias off of earlier gear. That was my first mistake when I tried to make the Zodiac weapon when I was still on free trial. And yeah, I agree with the 4 quests, I hated those 🤣
The one this year was a rerun, the first one was done in 2019. No news if they'll do another rerun in the future though. We can only hope that they do another rerun after 2 years
No prob! Do take note though that a good chunk of stuff from the video are post-ARR and post-HW content, so it might take you a while before you can actually do them. The things you can do early on would be the seasonal event (there's an ongoing summer event right now called the Moonfire Faire, and the starting npc is just in Limsa Lominsa), gold saucer, and ocean fishing
@@edwarudo thanks. Im really glad i tried this game. Got hooked by the freedom it gives the user esp om the ui and hud. While other MMO's feels like its a must or a chore to go through the dailies and MSQ, FFXIV just hits me up with the "what i want to do today" thought rather than forcefully make you go through it, the game itself lets the individual decide.

@@zsoltkanyo3705 absolutely! The relic weapons for Heavensward are the strongest you can get for that expansion. And if you buy the full game eventually, the HW relics are some of the best looking weapons if you plan on applying glamour on weapons. I still use the Dark Knight and Bard relic weapons as glamours on mine :)

Jesus I'm 300 hours in to my free trial and just found out I can join Party Finder. I've been doing S rank hunts asking for invites for no reason. XD

Played on and off but they disabled duty finder completely for free trial now, so it's worse.
duty finder isnt disabled, party finder is just limited to making your own listings but you can join groups.
