    Loved this! I’ve always been curious about the leaders of the individual SSRs outside of the top leadership in Moscow.
    As an American, I was quite surprised to see a 1992 Grand Prix at the end XD. Those are very common cars where I live. Fascinating.

    I can't believe they let you in with your drink. Spilling that drug on the fabric would have ruined it.
    Nice video. Thanks for the vicarious tourism.

    When I read Dinmukhamed I thought "it was of Dimash" and I had yo re-read the title. The museum was very interesting. 🤗

      Lmao I was confused too because the thumbnail was waayyyy too old of a style for Dimash 😂 I was about to judge his taste hahaha though I think also Dimash is pretty much known worldwide for that nickname and not his real full name.

    I'm amazed that Westerners know who he was. If you go to the former USSR, so many older people know about him.

    Are Kazakh children today taught in school to look up to forward Soviet Kazakh leaders?

    • @anelyaasul7506
      @anelyaasul7506 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      From the Soviet Kazakh leaders, the most famous and beloved is Dinmukhamed Kunaev. There was a major uprising in Kazakhstan in 1986, known as the December events, as the USSR removed Kunaev from his post and put a foreigner in control of Kazakhstan.
      We don't really know, we don't study other Soviet leaders (except for Nazarbayev, who was the last).
      And so there is AlashOrda, who are also beloved and who fought for democracy, for increasing the literacy of the Kazakh population. (I cannot call them Soviet, although they lived during the Soviet Union).
