- The 'Stop & Drop' is one latte art technique you need to focus on and master when you are learning to pour latte art. It's that little moment between having filled your cup to three quarters full with a nice canvas where you then 'stop' for a moment before making the 'drop' to let your pattern flow forward.

Another great vid!! Apart from size is there much difference across brand of jug when it comes to latte art? What brand do you and your team use?
We like to use the same jugs as our customers to show how effective they are without spending a fortune. These are Rhino 360m and 600m pitchers.

The Swift grinder in the background, do you find the dose jumps around a lot?
Yes, the Swift grinder is great for speed but at the compromise of not being able to manage dose which can fluctuate by about 2 grams. Lots of pro's and con's of that grinder.
What is the best size cup/mug to use?
Depends on your coffee shot and preferred strength.
For us, we use a 22.5g dose, 45g yield of our medium roast in a 350g mug.
I have trouble with the throth coming out first, not sure what I'm doing wrong

Add a dash and blend it into the shot. Then pour in one motion without the stop and drop so the soy doesn’t have time to clump together 👍🏻

To my tastes, latte art generally comes at the expense of flavor given the amount of milk required to provide a suitable canvas. Any tips for using the least amount of milk possible in a milk drink (for instance by maybe frothing more or using only whole milk?) and still making both art…and art?

Sound like you just need a smaller cup 😆 A good barista can still pour latte art with any froth level in any size cup.
