Psycho Kickboxer here. Great review. The film was shot in 1992 and 1993. We ran out of money and thus the kick knocking off the head as seen on the DVD was never filmed. Thanks for the awesome review!

It took 5 years from start to finish and to get a distributor to release it in 1997 through EI Independent Cinema!

Not only is the man the wheelchair able to train fighters, but he is also a tremendous healer. There isn't even a scar where Psycho Kickboxer got shot. 10:20
He is some kind of miracle healer. He was fighting and training with a bullet hole in his shoulder, his arm should have been useless until the wound healed.

I love it when movies do that. I've seen some movies that took so long that the characters suddenly disappear from the movie and the characters clearly look 10 years older lol.
The good news is that people keep making terrible movies for us to enjoy. In fact, Neil Breen has completed his 6th professional feature film and I am waiting with bated breath for him to put it up for sale so that I can send him money in exchange for a DVD-R in a jewel case.

No idea how reliable it is, but IMDb reckons it took five years to make this on a budget of $10k, so that probably explains it looking early 90s, and maybe also the drastic changes in weather during the same scene.
Eagle Talon...not a Plymouth Laser...but practically the same car. The spoiler and wheel covers are a giveaway. The Laser Talon and Mitsubishi Eclipse all shared parts and styling through Diamond Star Motors.
I had to watch the trailer to see the head explosions & other gratuitous violence that you guys couldn’t show on the channel. The shotgun scene was actually really well done.
I'm shocked those two redheaded DJs were not related. With all the mullets and awful mustaches, most of the characters looked the same to me, but I really thought those DJs were twin brothers. It's a shame we couldn't see the gore, but it sounds like it was pretty good, which is weird given how cheap everything else in the movie looked. Maybe they suddenly got some extra money right at the end, and added the gore scenes, with a higher budget? Too bad they couldn't have added more gruesome kills. Nice find!
Canvas of Blood is also worth a watch if you have the double disk. The first 15 min especially leave you constantly thinking "What is going on and why am I so intrigued?"
The second I heard those cartoonish/videogamey sound effects in the sparring I knew that this was going to be something. xD From exploding heads to ridiculous fights and unstable characters and what now. Fairly sure that coke had a hand in this movie. And the B.Y.O.B. at the end of the credits was hilarious too. xD
