@@Adriian.07 i don't think the problem was the lack of plot, since the first movie is based on a book and it has a sequel (that focus on them dealing with fame). i think adam hicks was the true problem for disney.
@@Adriian.07 I remember having an idea at the time. Basically it was Lemonade Mouth was no longer famous and the band had split up and gone their separate ways (off to college etc) but they have to come together one last time. No idea whether it would be any good but it sounded cool.
I think part of the difference is the fact that "Speechless" was meant for an audience with the mind that it would make money (and she probably took lessons, too). Also, Alan Menken's songs might start at low, but they're more for sopranos. "Lemonade Mouth" was a DCOM not intended to make any money (I don't think they had as much faith in it as they did "Camp Rock " 1 and 2 and "High School Musical" 1, 2 and 3). Those songs are more poppy and rock and ones that you can sing around the house while "Speechless" is more of something that you sing for a concert. And, I agree, there was an 8 year difference.
not to mention one is rocky and the other is more balad, ofc she gonna sing it different, yea she probably did evolve since its been years from "she so gone" to "speechless" but singing a rock song and a pop song after doesnt mean the voice evolved, means you like more pop than rock, she just used her own likings in the "analysis"
Speechless and she’s so gone also have different styles and intentions If she were to re-record she’s so gone as an adult it probably wouldn’t sound that different from the original cuz she would channel that version of herself but then again I’m not a vocal expert like I said so maybe I’m wrong
Definitely do a watch party! It's such a good show! I recommend "Brwakthrough" from the end! It showcases the actress who plays Stella (Hayley Kiyoko) more than other songs, as well as Brigidt and Naomi.
There is a longer version. But this jumping right into it fit thematically. Her character is from a very conservative Indian-American immigrant (based on the heavy accent both her perents have) background and she struggles with living upto her parents expectations while also being true to herself. This is her "let it go" "I'm breaking free" (speaking of Dcom) moment in the movie.
Love, love love this reaction. Naomi is insane with her her talent. She said this was her time having a role-that incorporated music and she loved . I think Speechless is a bigger song and she pulled it off so well. The fact they found a Disney princess that could act and sing was such a flex for Disney. Love her, and hope in Aladdin 2 she gets more songs.
You should react to her actual music. She is a very indie artist with inspiration from indian melodic tones. I think the difference more than age is the theme. Lemonade mouth is presented as an indie rock band so their songs hiwever poppy they may be are mostly rock based and she is the girl in the violin. She is the classically trained. So going into a song for a direct sense of constant high energy goes against the persona she was forced to play as the perfect indian girl (and i have quoted two of her lines here xd). Meanwhile speechless was jist meant to be as melodic as possible. As classic cos menken
I ADORE that this turned into a then/now video, and that you were really able to analyze the different styles of the same singer. Her range is pretty similar (Naomi has always been a good singer!), but you really called attention to how she's grown into a heavier, almost richer tone! Great video as always!!
The other girl in the band is Hayley Kiyoko and she is a really good singer too, in the movie she didn’t sing a lot but if you want you can check her most famous song girls like girls, she always directs her videos and produce them
If you do wind up doing a lemonade mouth watch party make sure you get the DVD version because even after the ending credits it's a bonus song called living on a live wire which they have this music TV interview and then they perform their new song and a lot of people miss that when they actually review the movie because they don't know about the DVD bonus
I would love to see a reaction of "More than a band" from this movie. My favourite song from it. A bit more chill and acousitc than the rest of the songs but very pretty song
It would be cool to see you review livin' on a highwire it was the extra ending song to lemonade mouth and has both Bridget Mindler and Naomi Scott it is such a different sound for both of them
You can't really compare her singing in these two songs. The style of the singing is more about how the directors wanted her to sing those songs for these two different movies rather than her own style and choice. That's the thing to remember about movie songs. The person singing it is doing it as per what the director, producer, and song coordinator want. In most cases, when you hear the same person sing it live, it sounds noticeably different because in the live singing, they are able to sing it how they want rather than how someone else is telling them to sing it. Keep that in mind for these movie songs.
She's so gone is a very particular song cause even the longer version doesn't have this build up, it just goes hard from beginning to end lol i like the fact that the chorus ends to go into... the chorus again
I’d love a lemonade mouth watch party! I have Disney+, so I’ll actually be able to watch it if you put it up on TH-cam 😂. Someday I’ll buy some glee, but until then…
Lemonade mouth is from early on in her career. And Aladdin is newer still. But she is amazing in both movies she plays in and her music is awesome❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
2:13 - 2:20 the diff is that one song is pop and the other pop rock, cant compare two styles and say her voice "evolved" you gotta say her voice evolved if you see any diff in how she uses the technique or how high she can go, improvement isnt based in genre, you need a more rock and roll voice to sing a rock and roll song, and you need a softer voice to sing a softer song, ofc you can use both in both scenarios, but what i mean is that the characteristic of rock and roll is the raspiness and strength more than the softness and airy
If you want to hear a band that is truly amazing, check out Nightwish live at Waken 2013 performing Ghost Love Score or The Poet And The Pendulum. Both songs are quite long, but worth listening to. The first one is over ten min. long. The second on is over thirteen min. long and has five acts. Floor Jansen is the current lead singer, Tuomas Holopainen is the Composer and Keyboard player. Emppu Vuorinen is the lead Guitarist. Marko Hietala was the Bass player and Singer but left the band 2 years ago. Kai Hahto is the Drummer. Troy Donockley is a multi-instrumentalist and singer. Nightwish is a Symphonic Metal Band.
Have you reacted to the third girl in the band? She doesn’t have solos in the movie but she’s a musician. Hayley Kiyoko. Check her out! Also yes this song is cut shorter in the movie, the soundtrack has the full song with more build up
Could you react to Bridgit mendler’s live acoustic songs? I grew out of Disney before lemonade mouth came out and so I would come across her on TH-cam instead and I just loved her vocal style. I ended up watching lemonade mouth because I found out shes in it (the blonde) she ended up talking about in an interview how when she sings as a character she uses a different style than she would for her own music. Would love to see your analysis on how to achieve her style
I’m not sure you can tell based on deepness because they are playing characters so maybe she is changing the pitch of her voice for what fits the character I feel like we would have to hear how she sings live to determine all that stuff you said but then again I’m not the vocal expert so I’m probably incorrect
As a huge fan of lemonade mouth, I really want you to react to all of the songs from the soundtrack, but next you should react to Somebody, it has great vocals.
You were spot on with the breakup guy haha. She broke up with him (stormed away) after catching him letting another girl feel all over his muscles. Then she ended it completely because being in the band and doing music changed her for the better. So he was jealous haha 😂. But In the end, he’s the main guitarist for the band and I believe him and Mo continued their relationship.
Thank you for the great review of Lemonade Mouth.... I was already familiar with Bridgit Mendler from her role in "Good Luck Charlie". This was my first experience watching Naomi Scott, Adam Hicks, Blake Michael, and Hayley Kiyoko. It's been 11 years already since Lemonade Mouth and all of the lead stars have gone on to great careers. I watched as Bridgit grew her musical career. She was a great vocalist in Lemonade Mouth and it was no surprise she stayed with music and singing. What really surprised me was Naomi Scott. I knew nothing of her before Lemonade Mouth. I was doing background research on older popular Disney Movies I had loved watching years ago. I ran across 'Mo' (Naomi Scott) and dug deeper. Naomi Scott is a very talented British Actress and Singer. She too went on after Lemonade Mouth. I noticed she played 'Jasmine' in the 2019 Disney Movie "Aladdin". When I saw her performance of 'Speechless' I was hooked. It is hard to believe she is the same girl who played 'Mo' in 2011 Lemonade Mouth. She is still an extremely talented Actress and Singer. She has a very bright future. Loved your analysis of song "She's So Gone". You are spot on about most songs follow a formula. Songs are like novels, both tell stories. Intro and first couple of chapters set the mood, define the characters. Plot is revealed and story builds up, getting bigger and better. Some songs wait until 3/4 point before crescendo, some as early as 1/2. This song comes out of the gate like a thoroughbred race horse and races straight to a giant hook that takes us into a giant chorus. But it doesn't spoil the plot and it gets bigger throughout song. Who's to argue with Disney and Naomi Scott? Giant hooks, giant choruses, giant ending that leaves us begging for more.
This song always gave off major The Veronicas vibes, which I didn't mind at all cuz I loved The Veronicas. But that female pop-punk sound was THE vibe of the time.
Hi! I love your videos! How are you able to show the original clip and audio without being copyrighted? Is it simply because of using it for review under fair use? I'd love to know, especially for newer channels figuring out copyright situations :)
Am I opinion of watching her explanations I also feel that the style of this song is different then compared to what she sing in Aladdin so yes her voice is different but because of the style she sang it in a different way

Yas there is a longer version of "She's so gone" and its perfect
Lemonade Mouth deserved so much better! I wanted a sequel so badly.
I’ve heard they planned sequel, but they haven’t got an idea for a plot, so they left it cause they didn’t wanted to make it bad
Kind of hard to do a sequel especially after Adam Hicks ended up in jail I'm sure Disney wants nothing to do with him
Not to mention if they did do a sequel where would the story go I think it was good as a one movie instead of a series

Not wrong. Maybe she would have a more mature voice, but the technique would be the same.
