Yeah, the book is actually pretty dark in some ways.

Another Disney Channel original movie that I think is pretty underrated is 'Let it Shine'.
I remember (idk if this happened to you) I had such a difficulty watching when it first aired because it was airing around the same time as 'Rags'.
So I would just switch channels whenever it got to commercials-
Dude I literally remember watching Let it Shine live!!! Like I was at a family friend's house and we had the movie playing on all the TV's in the house. So even the adults were watching it in the living room while I went between two bedrooms and sometimes the Living room to watch it. One of my favorite memories 😄
