If you dont have the inside air circulation mode lit up, you will get fresh air from the outside. The logo looks like 3 arrows forming a circle. also there is an auto circulation mode (with a A in the circle) this will detect foul air and will automatically turn on the inside air circulation mode. If that button is not lit, you have the fresh air mode.

FALSE! Sorry but you are very wrong about manual mode. It has nothing to do with heating or cooling outside temp. Manual mode if you see you will enter an area with dust or smoke, etc you can close before it enters the cabin. With auto would be late reaction to that. Normaly you want the outside air at all other times as circulating the inside air for long would result in low oxygen quantity.
