The NOT so paradise experience | Phuket | Rainy season

- In this video, we explored Phuket during the rainy season which is probably not the best time of year. There is not much you can do as the sea is rough but there are things you can do on the mainland like explore unique cafes like we did at Three Monkeys. We then traveled to The Big Buddha which is a definite must do in Phuket but sadly the rain caught us on the top so we couldn't spend much time there but it was still so beautiful.
We had to catch our flight so we waited on the beach by the Phuket Airport and enjoyed watching the airplanes fly over above us. This is a great way to wait for a flight in Phuket.

Glad we could help. Obviously low season is cheaper in terms of accommodation so if you have to go during rainy season it won't rain 24/7 but you won't get that nice still crystal water. The water is actually very dangerous during this time so I would avoid it. Best time to visit is December to July.
Im visiting Phuket right now too, and I keep going out, then trying to decide when to go back because of rain 😂.
🤣🤣🤣 the weather is very unpredictable. One minute it's sunny as a summers day and then you blink and it's a full on storm🤣🤣

Thank you for watching!!! Yes, you need an international license or a Thai license. Or you can use your license from your country, and if you're caught, you would have to pay a 200B fine which is not too bad😅

Is it worth going in rainy season? Does June experience a lot of wet weather?
June is not too bad you will have an occasional rain but that's it. August to October is a terrible time to travel to Phuket because of monsoon season but each year is different but it's one of those months for the full month where it's absolutely horrible.

You definitely need to go to Phuket there is a lot to do there😁
The bus from the airport all the way down the island saves money (100 bhat a ride). "Death island" takes no prisoners.
That is correct, yes, but that's only to get to your destination. What about transportation around the island? That's where the motorcycle is nicer to have, and then you can drive yourself everywhere on your terms.
@@jadeandjason. You can die on other people's terms though. And you don't REALLY need it. Smart bus goes up and down the best side (beaches). Sangthaew's cross the island, from Karon/kata and from Patong, over to Phuket Town. No need for a moto. Yes, they are VERY fun and the freedom is the best but with all the police checks now, not worth it. Before Covid there were NO police checks. It's always dangerous too. We saw 4 motorcycle accidents in one week in March 2020 (we had a moto for a week ourselves). One accident was a Thai driver pulling a car out in front of a tourist couple on a 125cc. They went straight into the car. The car drove away! We rushed to get the couple off the street so they wouldn't get hit again (it was on a blind, fast curve). We didn't have time to take a picture of the car. Your moto ability doesn't matter. It's others' bad driving that will kill you and you'll have no decision with your own life. You're gone. But let's face it: the only time you "need" (want) a moto is for longish, all day touring, which is great fun. But most days, you are just going to beaches/shopping and not moving at all.
You can always do a mix. Get a moto for a day to go everywhere, have your fun, and be done with it. We might do this next time too. Other days just use transport, save money, and be safe. After all the accidents on our last trip, it was enough for us to forgo the convenience / hassle of a moto. Waiting is just not that bad. Smart bus a has a schedule too. Easy planning. And every time you rent anything, you are just waiting to get scammed. We took a video of the moto before we started our week long rental to be covered from scams. The owner was irritated and started commenting as I stated my video but we said, this is protect us AND YOU. After a week and just hours from flying back home, we returned the moto and they tried to overcharge an extra day even though we told him at the start when were were returning the bike! It's never fun with these people. There's no hassle with any of it if you don't rent at all. it's just easier. Sure, Songthaews have no schedule and they crawl along but it's dirt cheap and short trips..
