    Another excellent video for both the choice of topic and the relevant content. You've been really good in recent videos in choosing topics that describe what Thailand is like but are for those who haven't been here but not covered by other TH-camrs. As usual, JEff has a few praises and nits to pick. On the plus side, your pronunciation of Thai words is really improving. Too many western Tubers pronounce Thai words using English pronunciations of Thai words based on how they are written using the Roman alphabet rather than listening to how Thai people pronounce those words. My one nit for this video is describing Songkran solely as the water festival. True, these days Songkran is the worlds biggest water fight, but it is also the traditional Thai new year when extended families get together and the younger generations honor their parents, grandparents, and ancestors with gifts and the washing of feet (making merit and the washing away of bad luck.)

    Thanks for this video, very detailed (plus, your voice is extremely soothing!). Could the last two weeks of May be a good time to visit Thailand? I would like to arrive in Bangkok on 14 May, go to Pukhet on the 16th, Chiang Mai on the 19th and then leave Thailand from Bangkok on the 23rd. Is this too many stops? Could the weather be on my side?

      What are the best places to visit in june for the least rain.

  •  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I have been spending many years in Thailand in Udon at march month, and I have never had any problems whatsoever with that smokey season people go on about... My native country probably has one of the cleanest air quality in the world, and I do not feel any way affected by that smoke season, so I say that you gotta experience it first to see if it in any way affects one.. I have also spent time in southern Thailand on Samui in March and I prefer the dry humid climate up north any day over that horrible damp weather on the southern part... But that is my personal preferance

    Very informative and helpful, thanks! --- QUESTION: Is there anybody who could tell me how 'smoky' it is at the moment and if April or mid-April till mid-May would be an 'ok-ish' time to go to Thailand this year? Or maybe more pleasant and beautiful in June, early rain season?

    • @TheNarrowGate
      @TheNarrowGate  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The smoke will stay around until the end of April more than likely. Anytime after that you’re fine.

      Been there in end November/December no rain but cloudy. It was always warm but you were always waiting for a pure sunny day. I was in koh chang this year in November amazing weather and my favourite island I've been to. Alot quieter than other islands might put you off

    (I could also decide the itinerary there, depending on the weather).

    • @TheNarrowGate
      @TheNarrowGate  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The weather should be fine for you so no problem there. That is a lot of stops. You will enjoy them, but I’m sure the whole trip will go by really fast that way.
