Yeah, damn, I'd say you don't even need to change it unless you really want to save 10 to 20 or so kilos in weight which let's be real isn't that big of a difference. What this car really needs is a stage 2 upgrade with a sport/high-flow cat and an intake upgrade because the stock charge pipe can blow up and stuff. And stage 3 with turbo modding might be a bit too expensive and you'd be better off upgrading the suspension because it's not that great apparently. Man, I think I'm getting this or the m240 when I save enough in a few years, it's just such an awesome platform.
I think I like the stock sound more. When I was getting the m235i I test drove one in Carmax which had the stock exhaust and I remember being impressed with the sound and I could hear the turbo really well. I ended up getting one from a BMW dealer and the previous owner had the m exhausts put on and yes it's certainly louder but it drowns out all the other sounds. I don't even hear the turbo at all.
I have the same M235i. I think a lot of people ignored how beautiful the turbo sounds when it's building pressure. The first time I test drive my car I thought that there a cop horning from a distance!
Is the sound difference mainly outside. The reason I ask is because I like the idea of comfort still being reasonably quiet inside. Have you noticed any droning?. Diffuser does look good.
So far I would say its mostly outside - In sport modes you can definitely hear it a bit more inside but not loads, much better with the window open though. No drone though - I have the 8 Speed auto, and have sat cruising in both comfort and sport and not noticed any drone at all. Very pleased with the exhaust!
Looks like this straight out of the box, effectively matt black plastic. A lot of people get them partly or fully painted, but I opted not to in the end!
Nuttenklatscher: I owned an automatic M135i pre LCI and own a manual M135i LCI right now so i guess it will not vary much with an m235i. With sporty driving included , and not a lot of highways I drive between 13.5-14.5l/100 km . If you do mainly highways, around 8.5-10l/100km
On highways, I got consumption of 6.8l/100km avg speed 85km/h - 100km distance travelled (m235i 2015, 8 speed automatic). Great car to drive fast, however, also great fuel consumption figures.
@APiC Nah, i don`t like it. the reason why i like inline 6 engines its because it sounds amazing and its super smooth. with these made up farts i cant hear the engine and turbo noises.
@@MrShakejunt8 haha funny you answer this a year after. I bought a F80 M3 since I made this comment and ended up getting a equal length mid pipe and a tune to remove the farts. YES IT`S FARTS lol. Now my car sounds beautiful like It should sound from the factory. Actually i complained so much about the fart noises when i was test driving the car and when the salesman was trying to push me the car that i got a really good deal and ended up with left over money to fix the sound.
Well done exhaust video. Best I’ve seen, done the right way!
M Performance diffuser also immensely compliments the M Performance exhaust!
Ey stock doesn’t sound bad
I prefer stock, the MPE sounds like a tractor.
@@DjNikGnashers Burbles are lovely though

Tolles Video, der Sound ist einfach perfekt
M235i….ein kommender Klassiker!
Great video 🤘🏻💯
That MPE is SICK 😎
Is The MPE noticably louder than stock?

You’ve convinced me
How much for the m performance exhaust?
1200$ +
that sounds awesome
Exhaust valve closing at 1:02 and 2:06 actually makes a pretty big difference. Can you just unplug the valve why it’s cold so it won’t close?
Yes, that's what I did on mine
@@VerTzxD may i ask how to unplug the valve? will it happen some error code?
@@hou1314521 No error code. Just put the car in sports mode & there will be a connector right behind the muffler. Unplug that & you're good to go
how much louder would this be with a catted downpipe ? Vsfr 4"
Nice video man! tnx.
Sounds like the mic wasn't the same though :)
Thanks - Mic and audio settings were identical, but the 2 clips were filmed about a week apart, was quite windy when I filmed the stock exhaust!
That explains it :)
You took the car to the track already?

Thanks for the info, very tempted now. Is the diffuser a matt or gloss finish?.

How much l/100km does the m235 need?

My Friend has one, and if you want to have fun 20l if you drive normal 14-15l

Where can I go and find performance exhausts in person or online im kinda new to the car community
At your local BMW
Is this tuned or does it have the burbles stock?
Completely stock interns of map etc, only the MPE fitted
Is there any other mods?
No, car is standard mechanically apart from the M Performance exhaust
very nice
I hope you’re planning on doing some more videos with the M235i?
No doubt as the weather improves I’ll go out and film some content. I also have a European road trip planned this year
James Morgan never followed through :(
I will never be happy again with the stock once I’ve heard MPE 🙁
Is there anyway to completely remove the farts ? thats the only thing i hate about modern bmws
@APiC Nah, i don`t like it. the reason why i like inline 6 engines its because it sounds amazing and its super smooth. with these made up farts i cant hear the engine and turbo noises.
it's called the pop and bang, I think it can be changed depending on the mode after mapping
