Thanks Louie. I like working on the car and doing what I can to help keep our firebird moving forward. Yes, Jim is blessed to have me 😂. Thank you so much for watching.
I'll give you credit.for someone not ever having done this before your doing a great job!!! Always good to reference measurements. Keep up the great job!
Thank you. At first I thought we bit off a little more than we could chew, but we are just taking our time and getting a lot of help from others on TH-cam. Thanks for the comment and for watching.👍
I must have lost your comment at the time you sent it. Anyway thank you. I feel detail’s really help me get though things I’ve never done before, so hopefully it will help others. Thanks for the comment and for watching.✌️
Thank you. I guess you can’t have too many measurements. I also have this problem with not throwing anything away (at least my wife says I do)😂. Thanks for watching 👍
You’re welcome. Glad you’re moving along on your project. We do this to help others with limited experience. We appreciate you watching and for your comment.✌️
Looks great guys! Just curious what brand dash you bought? my OER had the tabs that weld to the A-pillar. One thing I would recommend. look at the old upper cowl and see where the factory stamped the VIN into the panel so you can stamp the new one the same way. Its in front of the right side upper vent opening. You can look at my part 21 if you can't locate it. You will need to hold a body dolly on the inside of the cowl when you stamp it so its a 2 person job. But it is a good idea to have it there as a security precaution.
Thank you. I’m not sure the brand, I purchased it at a swap meet and it didn’t have any stickers on it. I do have the stamped VIN located on the old one and was thinking of stamping it on the new on. I will definitely do it now. Thanks for the information and for watching.
It's OK to take those angle measurements, but I'd be very suspect of them for reassembly. Those aren't datum surfaces and a very small error could really throw off the fitment. I'd definitely use the hardpoints and visual fitment as a gauge.
The degree marks are just a reference to see how close to the original it really is. The angle measurements I use are the same thing. I always try to use a hard line that doesn’t move (like the top of the windshield). So far it has worked, but I’m learning so I really appreciate your comment and advice. Thank you for watching.
Absolutely right take lots of measurements and points of reference. Doing a great job
Thank you. Better too many measurements than not enough.👍
@@JK_Nex_Garage totally agree

It's not overkill if it helps re-install correctly. Excellent how-to video. Thanks.
Thank you. It just feels like it sometimes, I guess I would rather have more measurements than not enough. Thanks for watching and the comment.

@JK_Nex_Garage I've got a Channel I have to get back up. I'll be doing the same thing on my 67 firebird convertible.
@@richardhall5699excellent, I’d like to see that when you get it going. Keep me posted 👍
Just found your channel and I can say I really like the details you give as your working. Thanks!

Another gd episode. Great idea with the measurements and saving the original parts for reference until the new ones are installed.

Sweet Jigs, I wish I had a set. Sucks when you start removing parts and find more rust to deal with. Thank for Sharing.
The rust stinks, but I’m almost expecting it now. The jigs aren’t fancy, but they will help to get things back close enough. Thanks for the comment.
Great video! Doing a great job.
Thank you. We are getting it figured out. Slowly but surely. Thank you for watching and for the comment. ✌️
Doing the same thing on a 68 camaro. Thank you. It helps a lot !

DO not throw away that original dash!!!! There are people out there willing to buy that old one.
Definitely. I’ll be saving all the parts we take off. I have a problem it’s throwing things away, I just can’t do it😂. Thanks for watching.
