If you want an accurate and available engine, I’d recommend the engine from an E92 M3 since that was derived from the actual E46 M3 GTR that went racing in 2001-2005

That would be quite expensive tho I wouldn't be surprised if he went with a 1UZ/3UZ or with a M60/62 because I'm pretty sure there's full swap kits avaible for both of those

Let’s not forget about the iconic straight cut gear sound as well.
There are 3 good options for the swap choice:
- cerbera 4,2L V8
- BMW M5 e39 s62b50 V8
BMW M3 e92 s65b40A V8
so one option, the one the M5 E39 had. because its the one the GT-R had
The M3 GTR had a P60B40, which was a bespoke motor for that car. The design, if memory serves correctly, was inspiration for the E90 generation V8, if altered a bit for a more road friendly experience.

Of course the P60b40 would be the perfect swap but since they’re impossible to get, you should go with other alternatives

For high accuracy, swapping the Cerbera V8 in the Bimmer would be a perfect idea.
while that is true, it is incredibly hard to get a cerbera engine, let alone a cerbera

The other thing you should probably consider is a straight cut gearbox so that you actually have the wining sound.

@@naufalkusumah2192 you don't need sequential to have straight cut gear, straight cut gear is the gear inside gearbox. Manual and even automatic can have straight cut gear.
@@Racing_Dude you can also pull the interior and all the sound deadening and go with solid diff mounts. youll get a nice whine from the diff in the cabin. so basically straight cut(ish) gears sound on a budget lmao

The respect i will have if you go the Cerbera V8 route cause no one has done it, its exactly what id do, the game cars sound is the one id want to emulate anyway.

A car build takes time and money and pants aint no Fennigan or GMG with their devotion being cars
Parts take time to get shipped some take a few days others takes weeks and in some bad instances its takes months just to get parts

I know with the e36's, putting in an e39 V8. You can use an inline six manual gearbox thats waa already in the car and retain the standard prop too! Often was the only way to keep it manual too
Put a E92 M3 engine with the DCT, and remember the Carbon Airbox to make the right noises.

A straight cut dog box wouldn’t be ideal for day to day street use though

Only problem is to find the correct engine, because the P60B40 has only been used in the M3 GTR and its 'Straßenversion'
The closest accurate engine would be M60B40.

Here are some swap ideas
-Porsche 928 V8 4.5
-BMW S65 4.0
-Oldsmobile Aurora V8 4.0
-Ford Taurus SHO V8 3.4
The best engine to swap into it would probably be the E92 M3 engine. Then couple it up with a straight cut sequential. Gut the interior, cage it, fit a red racing seat. Money.
theo, your rear fender is wrong. The arch must go up to the car's body line, else it will look really weird when finished because the front will be lower than the rear. You might wanna fix that before it's too late if you really want to accurately replicate the m3 gtr
I think the reason the rear fender is wrong is because its a 3 series and not an original M3 so Im guessing that it's gonna be extended at some point.

tbh, the kit was already wrong in the beginning because the guy who made this kit had the same problem with the rear fender and his finished build looked odd as heck because the rear is high while the front is low

ive had a bit of experience with taking my college teacher's engine out of his silvia S13 and now its been fixed and back in
If I was choosing a V8 I'd go for an older BMW V8 maybe an E39 generation 540i or if you find a damaged one a true E39 M5 engine.
Another alternative would be an E60 generation 545i or even 550i but the 550i is likely too big.
To me the m3 e92 4.0 V8 wouldn't be worth the trouble because of the numerous issues those engines had.
LS or S65 with a flat plane crank would be great

This is really cool but my main concern is the plates how's this going to work and which plate is going to be used cause remember this car has been in "every" game or so it feels like it anyways if you're doing the og MW or possible carbon plate I'd assume you'd have to get that custom made
I don’t know why but for some reason as a kid I thought that the m3 gtr from most wanted was this crazy garage build rather than an actual race car. This series kind of reminds of that thought.

its the wrong v8 though... You need the BMW P60B40 Engine. That would be the correct one. The M3 GTR Street is the only street legal car that uses the engine but you cant find it anywhere so im still fine with it

In terms of overall structure and sound, I'd say the e92 v8 is probably the closest to the one in the gtr. Of course it wont have the whining gearbox though lol.
