Damn it, those where the days when the SAAF had great fighters called Mirage and Buccaneer great footage, thanks a lot for sharing it. Is there a second part, some sort of following up ? Would love to see some more footage of the great SAAF, Mirages IIICZ and F1CZ, F1AZ👍😉
@@christobosman5710 It's the population not the government, south africa can get their aircraft ready plus we don't even need an airforce to beat our neighbors because our neighbors don't even have a fighter jet
@@christobosman5710 I know but all those countries are very far away and they don't have tankers to send their fighter planes that far, besides Botswana they only have outdated MIGs and probably don't even have pilots to fly them, south african air defense systems will handle any fighter jet trespassing
The Mirage F1 remains one of the most beautiful aircraft ever.
Makes me want to weep when I see what the SAAF has devolved into... A mere shaddow of its former self.

This video reveals the difference between a once superior and competent air force and a spaza shop in what we have now with the current regime!

Is it possible to obtain the full clip? Plenty of great footage there!
Gone are those glory years 😢😢😢😢😢
The new head of the Airforce was only a Mirage washer back then
Typical of ANC appointments.
Bet you he couldn’t fly this

And today we can't even properly maintain or even keep the aircraft in the air😑...
@FlyingBadger Not need to explain. HJ just missed the "good ol days" 🤣
Waste of money, why keep the aircraft in the air if we are not being threatened?

Where is the rest of the video ?
Beatiful video
I’m curious, what year would this be ? I’m guessing early 80’s
Yes. During the Angolan war.
Awesome plane👍
It sure is!
More volume please
I like their camouflaged F1 🌞
But can we get the full story!?
THANKS
It seems that the “student pilot” in the end is major Johannes Rankin.
28 Squadron was one of the squadrons that was a back bone for the others because of what it did
There is something about South Africa in the 80s and 70s that gives me a weird feeling
yep, an absence of the black majority, lol, sad but true and very weird
@christo bosman the previous government had already fucked it up , corruption sucks but worse is tyranny and racism.
@christo bosman I lived in the country you nub, first world country doesn’t mean it’s an equal country. Dumb fuck.
it's weird because things used to work then.
